Sometimes, my mom and I have impromptu lunches in the Makati apartment. This happens when she has a medical appointment in MMC, and after which she'll drop in for lunch. She will request for a particular food and I will order it for her.
Today, we had swordfish, duck, and karaage over rice - we ordered from Ikomai. She was surprised today to find out that in her J&J trial, she had received. . .the placebo! The original promise was that by TODAY she would have been jabbed already. But this has since been extended until the end of this month. These people are seriously sometimes just. . .
We talked about a few things - future plans, health, maybe some news about ridiculous people. Par for the course topics with mom. We also ended the meeting w/ the usual query - what could she buy as food, to take home to pops in QC? They were actually jonesing for unagi today, but I told them - for some of these fancy ingredients, it's probably easier now to get them in LGV than in Makati.
