All this talk about England made me a bit nostalgic for the "good old days" when Brixton and Toxteth were on people's minds and Black and Brown and progressive white people had a clear enemy (Enoch Powell and the National Front) and when the biggest threat on everyone's mind wasn't the end of human civilization but Margaret Thatcher (which at the time was bad enough, believe me).
So here's another trip down memory lane for those of us of a "certain age". The Specials and "A Message to You Rudy". Booyaka!

Two-tone was a great period in British social and musical history. On balance I think we're a bit farther forward than we were back then, but the path seemed much clearer (and brighter) then than it is now. It's good to remember where you're coming from so you can tell where you're going to.
