they don't make cartoons like they used too.
back in the hayday of Ghostbusters and Bionic 6, cartoons showed that they could be outlandish, action packed and still have moral lessons. most now are just gross or plain action oriented. i don't mind gross mind you. i myself have been called so several times in one day, sometimes more than 10 in an hour. but moderation is the key. i can only watch so much of Grim Adventures and The Batman before i heave inwardly.
but honestly, i don't want to sell the whole industry short so soon. in my time, i have witnessed the closing of some pretty awesome series. Gargoyles on the Disney channel, when the company was on the brink of cashing out. Godzilla and Bigguy and Rusty the Body Robot- both of which experienced premature shutting down me i thinks. The old Timm/Dini/Burnett Batman and Superman series probably makes the list most full bodied followed closely by everything Gennedy Tartakovsky has ever touched- Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack- along with his proteges Rob Renzetti and Butch Hartman (Powerpuff Girls, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Danny Phantom). few current series really have the moxy to stand the test of... well. me. which is not a lot- like i said earlier. so own to the two most promising.
"Filmore!" the second greatest series ever produced by Disney (since the untimely demise of Gargoyles), is dreadfully hard to come by online. it seemed to have up and vanished from the local reels, and torrents of it are just impossible to find. i can actually get how kids would not see the genius of it all. for the uneducated, just think of every cop series you've ever seen, partners, supporting cast, captains, commisioners, mayors, forensics, hannibal lecter- and this show has it... only in middle school. the plots are so well written it's almost unimaginable to see kids sitting there and not getting it. so very sad.
if i was a cartoon character, i'd be played by Cornelius Filmore (right) and Mihk would be played by his partner, Ingrid Third (left).

Avatar: The Last Airbenber. a series rich in both action AND comedy, is by far the most promising show i have had the pleasure to follow. and when i say pleasure i mean that i just found out that one of my favorite characters Katara (on cover):
is voiced by this girl.
whom most of you know as Ann Veal from Arrested Development.
i crush her sooooooo bad now! in a jailbait-notreally kind of way.
PS. my avatar:
is this girl.
