morels
i have long been a fan of the flavor of morel mushrooms. And every spring I tell myself that this is the year I am going to go hunting for the elusive fungi. Before I know it, summer is here and I missed my chance to get out and look for them. So I guess its back to the dehydrated variety until next year.
Last week i was backing out of my driveway and noticed something growing under my deck. To my surprise i had a few morels growing right in my own back yard. Upon further investigation, i was able to find close to a dozen of them growing around my property. It made me think about this women who was crawling around the hill behind my lot late last month and now I realize that she was probably morel hunting. I may have a gold mine right under my nose. These things can sell for as much as $30/pound.
