Dust Storms Are Fun

I live in Metropolitan Sydney. 
I know what some of you who haven't been to Australia might think of our little country - desert, desert, bushland, outback, stereotype, stereotype, snakes, spiders, hopefully you think about awesome beaches.

I've seen some of the pictures and it does look kind of awesome. All the same, hope it goes away soon so you can get on with things - we only had a few minor sandstorms when I lived abroad and they were kind of cool, but a bit of a pain at the same time!

Hehe. Novelty is gone, I'm afraid.
Skies were clear by the afternoon.
The choke-worthy air was no novelty, though :P

Glad to hear you're ok (and that you thought it was awesome, lol). I was reading this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_australia_dust_storm and couldn't remember what part of Australia you lived in but wanted to check your LJ.

I remember reading about the dust bowl/dust storms in America. They're terrible but really cool at the same time.

Hehe. I have a skylight in my room and when I got woken up at 5.30am there was weird orange light coming through that looked like it was flickering because of my fan and I thought the roof was on fire
