Well, I just felt like posting.
Not for any reason at all except that I am bored.
I'm trying to think of something interesting in my life that is actually worth posting about that anyone may want to read....
Well, for one of my classes at uni I'm finally writing a script. Script writing is so much fun. It is ambiguous and completely up to the way the reader interprets the voice. Fun, fun, fun. Specially for a suspense writer like me. The character's motivations are not as on-the-surface when you're not writing what they're thinking.
I'll post this script-in-the-making if anyone wants to read it or thinks they could give me some pointers. My layout is kinda funky and I can't seem to make it look pretty no matter how much I try.
Heehee. The other thing I love about scripts is the lack of description. Woo for no huge descriptions about what shade of green the leaf is and exactly HOW one's face contorts into a look of shock.
Upon reflection about scripts, though. They're lots of fun, and my opinion may change as I go through the course and do 'writing for stage and screen' next semester, but I am a prose writer at heart. I do way too much internal dialogue and reflections on life to be so vague as a script.
I'm a prose writer at heart. So far my thoughts on my writing haven't changed. I still hate poetry, still am not the best at description and still feel the overwhelming urge to want to be an author, no matter how unattainable that dream may be (specially in Australia.)
Well, that's my little ramble about my writing :)
Makes me feel better. I feel slightly less bored now.
