So, there's the saying on the Dove chocolates...

...and the other day I got one that said, "You look good in red."

:)

Icelandic goes well. I made the mistake of trying to be a little too fancy and attempt to use some of the verbs we know when she asked us to form sentences with nouns and adjectives and she basically inferred that I shouldn't do that 'cause we haven't learned it yet. Kinda discouraging but I understand her point. I have enough on my platter as it is and I shouldn't get ahead of the class. It's easier to teach if we're all in the same place.

I also learned that I'm going to have to learn breath control in this class as the Icelanders actually pre-aspirate under certain conditions (geminate unvoiced stops and those spots who follow /l/ and /n/). (Basically this means that breath is added before the stop-in-question. So ekki is pronounced kinda like [eh...gi]. Oh, and the stop is voiced after the pre-aspiration.) Without this pre-aspiration Icelanders won't be able to understand you either. *sigh* She didn't lie when she said Icelandic is known for it's breathing!

And I think it's very cool that yet another class knows me by Eyja. :)
