Hvað segir þú? (Gah! Drat me for not finding that verb paradigm so that I can conjugate it for 2nd person plural: þið!) I think I have everything at least vaguely down for what we needed to know today. I already have a good load of flash cards, and I've been marking down the nouns and sayings we've been coming across despite no absolute direction to memorize them. And I can make some rudimentary sentences. Thank goodness for taking Old Norse. It means I already have some of the pronouns down, and the verbs and their mutations are familiar if not already known. I already want to go in there and talk up a storm. ^_^ Almost didn't contain myself from using some of the greetings and goodbyes we learned in class during the reception last night. This is going to be so fun! I just hope I pick up all the sounds and don't have too thick of an accent by the time I get there.

Oh, and I forgot from yesterday another good quote:
My teacher (kennari minn?) was explaining how Icelanders always introduce themselves by their first name or, if formal, their patronyms, but never by their patronyms alone. She said, "That's my father's name? He's not here, leave him out of it."

Weee...almost time for class!
