Goddamnit

Guess who forgot to check Thermalright's website for compatability issues with their XP-90? I bet that person's me!

Apparently I have one of two motherboard series in existance to not be compatable with this pimp heatsink. Chaintech had the brilliant idea to put a row of capacitors not more than three centimeters away from the cpu area. I got the new retention bracket on just fine, but attaching just one of the heatsink's clips to it would definantly have knocked off one of the capacitors. And while I don't know a whole lot about electronics, I'm pretty that would've been a really bad thing.

So now I have to go through the hassle of getting Amazon's third party retailer to accept a return+refund. They seem, judging by their website and a couple of reviews I've read, to be a pretty decent company when it comes to this sort of thing. I'll just be out of 15% for "restocking" (which I think just means "masturbating while we get some Mexican to put it back on a shelf for us"). Oh well, c'est la vie.

PS: The other negative thing is that I ordered the aluminum version of the heatsink. The third-party retailer thought copper was just as good. Only they didn't take into account that copper weighs twice as much as aluminum. Oh well; not like it matters.
