(no subject)

the night was broken by the cry of a tauren fresh to the world followed soon by an exclamation of anger by the child's family. Throwing back the tent flap the old tauren walked out fire blazing in his eyes...so many generations had gone by without the Taint of the icemist showing. Long ago when they had been a part of the larger whole of the Tauren nation their tribe had an influx of icemist blood resulting in Grey fur and rarely a white furred calf was born. since the joining with the horde and the parting of the tribe from the greater whole such children were seen as a taint subject to being exiled at best and killed at birth at worst.

letting out a deep breath he turned back to the tent and shook his head, the child was his daughter's and she would never forgive him if he killed it tainted or not. The law was clear though on the fact that it was not welcome in the camp, he would take it to the nearby Druidic circle and leave it where it was sure to be found.

Years later a young white tauren went racing across Nighthaven skidding to a stop before the old elf who merely glanced at her with a fond smile before slipping her a small hard candy and motioning to the council who were speaking to the entire group gathered in the druidic city. accepting the candy and slipping it into a pocket she turned to listen to them eyes growing wide as he spoke of the new round of trials that would begin for those wishing for to follow the druidic path in full. Glancing to her mentor she leaned up and asked him quietly if she was going to be allowed to participate this year, smiling softly he murmured back that if she was diligent in getting her chores done on time he would endorse her candidacy.
