I don't think you have any reason to be worried about this chapter - it's just as stunning and beautiful as all the others. I'm seriously in love with your vivid, almost terse, writing style.

And Lois and Jimmy's relationship makes me really happy - Jimmy doesn't get enough love in fandom, though he deserves it. Lois's recognition of him, his loyalty - every time you write Jimmy, especially like this, or in relation to Lois and the rest of his adopted family, I'm blown away.

Also, I love that you're keeping the theme of trust and secrets from Smallville but making it deeper and more meaningful (as in Lois and Kal-el's relationship, esp. him listening in this chapter) instead of the insipid Lana-style wangsting.

He really does: the amount of Jimmy-hate from Smallville fans makes me sad, especially since I see no reason for it -- at this point we have Aaron Ashmore, who is good-looking, talented and well-cast, playing a character who only has sympathetic and/or loveably geeky traits. I can understand why somebody might dislike Lois, or Clark, or Kara, but Jimmy? Come on.

Hee, thanks.

This was a great installment. As I said over at DI, I love it when Jimmy gets a chance to shine. And Lois proves that she's very insightful, here. Can't wait for what's next!

I just devoured all the chapters you have so far. I don't even know where to begin squeeing so I think I'll comment on the plot over all then alphabetically by character ( ... )

This comment makes me ":D" every time I read it.

She's matured believably here. No longer afraid of he powers but apparently not that comfortable with them either. I like how she's taking on her old role as "Watchtower" in a way.

Thanks! I had trouble with Chloe, especially re: her power -- but I tried to take it back to what I liked about her, and do justice to what I thought were her good points.

What is not to love about Jimmy? I loved that he's Lois figurative standard-bearer because that EXACTLY describes everything that Jimmy is.

I love Jimmy. He's the character who's always doing his best: he can't pull off all the heroic stunts that get characters like Clark/Superman, Kara and even Lois the limelight -- but he tries, and he's fiercely loyal to his friends.

Lois is a star. She just really is! *L* I'm not going to go on too long about her because if I do, I'll never stop. She's probably the opposite of Jimmy in that she's hard on the outside but with a soft, squishy center. She's not a ball-busting bitch and she's not a ( ... )
