Title: Death Will Never Conquer
Fandom: Ace Attorney series
Characters: Apollo Justice, Ema Skye, Trucy Wright, Phoenix Wright, Klavier Gavin
Prompt: Apollo commits/attempts suicide.
Rating: T for mild language, dark themes, and mature subject matter
Summary: Feeling worthless, everything ends in a downward spiral. The thing that truly matters is if there's anyone there to catch you when you fall.
Author's Notes: As a suicide survivor myself, I felt obligated to take the case.

He had become so good at faking everything.

He knew that he just wasn't cut out for this attorney deal. Everybody was constantly holding him up to the star that Phoenix Wright once was. People always seemed to push him to the side in favor of others; Klavier, Trucy, Kristoph, Phoenix...Nobody loved him. Not even his own mother. Nobody looked past the big picture. They didn't see him in the background, and they wouldn't care if he just dropped dead.

He stared at the picture in his hands; a group picture of him, Trucy, Klavier and Ema in front of the courthouse. His throat tightened as he thought of them. They wouldn't be upset...would they? No, they had their own lives. He was just a prop. Really, what did he have to contribute? Everybody insisted on holding his hand through every god damned thing. They wouldn't let him do things for himself.

He angrily tossed the photo aside and looked at the rope beside him. His apartment was quiet, appropriately enough. Nobody would be able to find him in time. They wouldn't be able to save him. Would they even want to?

Going over to his closet, he tied the rope to the shelf and got the stool from underneath his bed. Sliding it underneath the rope, he got on it and adjusted the noose around his neck, tightening it so that it would be quick and painless. He had no regrets. No one would miss him. On the off chance that they did, there was nothing that they could do to bring him back. If they felt guilty, just as well. This was their fault, after all. He mentally thought of the things he'd say to them if he could.

Trucy...You always thought that I couldn't do things on my own. It's not your fault, I guess...I mean, I did fail on more than one occasion. Still, you had faith in me. I appreciate that. That's something I'll remember.

Klavier, you weren't a very hostile rival, if I could even call you that. Maybe we could've been pretty close friends in a different life. I feel bad about what happened with Daryan and your brother, but you didn't seem to be upset. Still, I hope you do well.

Ema. You certainly weren't the happiest of the bunch, but you did your job and you did it well. You've got friends, even if you don't think you do. Everybody likes you more than you think. Maybe you should give them a chance.

Mr. Wright. You were definitely an inspiration to me. I wish you tried harder to get your badge back. I hope you retake the bar, just like you said you would. I know you'd make a great comeback. You'll always be a better attorney than I would ever become. You were able to do everything on your own, not like me.

These thoughts wouldn't leave him alone. There was something nagging at the back of his head, a lingering guilt that he couldn't shake off. He couldn't remember ever feeling this guilty before, even when he sent Kristoph to prison. He couldn't concentrate on this, though. If he did, he'd bail out right then and there.

Just as he kicked the stool underneath him, he heard the light, feminine call of, "Polly?"
--------------------------
Was it too late? Was this heaven? Was there a heaven? Was this hell? What was this bright light? What were these familiar voices?

"Herr Justice..."

"Is he going to be okay?"

"His neck didn't snap, so I think he'll be alright aside from a few bruises..."

"Why did he do this?"

It took all of his strength just to open his eyes a crack. He could make out a few familiar figures...and he felt like his heart stopped. A thousand different emotions flooded his mind, enough to make his eyes shoot open and he quickly sat up to see the usual crowd around him. He concluded that he was in the hospital, judging from the white, sterile-looking environment and the fact that he was in a hospital bed.

He couldn't bear to look at their faces. He caught a glimpse of Ema and Trucy's red-rimmed eyes and Klavier staring at his feet. Phoenix was the only one looking straight at him.

"Apollo."

His voice rasped and cracked, he didn't dare turn his head. "Yeah?"

"Why?"

He had mentally prepared for this question, which was why the answer came out so fast and passionate. "I don't know! If I knew, maybe I could've changed something...I had to fake everything just so nobody would suspect that there was something wrong."

There was silence for a few minutes before Ema, surprisingly enough, was the one to do something. She took a defiant step towards him and slapped him across the face with all the force she could muster. It happened so fast that nobody knew how to react, especially Apollo. Her breathing was hard and deep.

"You...you bastard! When...when I heard that you were going to die, you can't even imagine how I felt...how could you do this to us?! How could you leave behind the people who care about you so easily?! Did it even cross your mind how hurt we'd feel?"

"Fraulein, I think that's enough."

Klavier's face was straighter than a pin. Ema backed off, her pride wounded and let Klavier take over. "Herr Justice. What was it that made you do this? It couldn't have been us."

"I was under the impression that nobody cared. I was always the one who was shoved aside. I didn't think there was any use in me sticking around."

There was a silent guilt trip between the four others before Trucy spoke up, a slight flicker of hope in her voice.

"But it's okay, Polly. It'll be okay."

And seeing his friends' faces, he knew that it would.

Title: Spinning Around In The Highest Heels
Fandom: Ace Attorney series
Characters: Maya Fey, Franziska von Karma
Prompt: Formal dancing, femslash
Rating: K
Summary: Dancing with Maya Fey was the last thing she had expected to do that night.
Author's Notes: I've needed to exercise my femslash skills, so naturally I felt like writing this adorable prompt.

She had never been particularly fond of the Fey girl, but she had to say that the girl emitted a sort of radiance wherever she went. It made Franziska feel oddly…calm. Like there was nothing to worry about. This was a foolish feeling, to be sure, but nonetheless pleasant.

These thoughts hadn’t been realized until Maya had asked to dance with her at a party.

It was one of those formal affairs for attorneys and prosecutors, along with their assistants and the police force. Since Phoenix Wright and Miles had gone off somewhere-getting drunk and doing things that the general population would not approve of, most likely-Maya had been left alone to wander about. Unlike herself, the Fey girl didn’t know a single person there. It seemed bitterly depressing to have to stay within a comfort zone in a place such as this.

Although she stood out with a somewhat brighter shade of violet dress, she looked stunningly gorgeous, with just enough lip gloss on and pearl earrings. Franziska was at a loss of words for a few moments before she actually gathered the nerve to accept the request. If anybody asked, she’d just say that it was purely a courtesy to dance with even others of the same gender at such occasions.

Placing a reluctant hand on the girl’s hip and another holding her hand, they started to sway in time to the moderate-paced music the quartet was playing. Surprisingly, Maya was very good at this.

“You look really tense, Franziska,” she noted, not even breaking a stride. “You should lighten up a little! You’re gonna step on my feet if you keep this up.”

Franziska had to admit that she couldn’t shake off the feeling of discomfort around Maya. The room was suddenly a little too warm, and she soon became too aware of the finer details. But still, she danced with fervor, even showing off for her partner a little in the slim black dress that she managed to find deep within the confines of her wardrobe. As the music grew faster, so did their pace and before she could even pinpoint what exactly was going on-or rather, what she was feeling or thinking-they were deeply entranced by the entire spirit of it all.

Everything was so perfect. So beautiful. Even the Fey girl, who she had never given a thought to since meeting her, was making heat pool in her chest, a foreign emotion to her. Was this wanting? It was something so easily obtainable…she could just reach out and take it…

But alas, all dances come to an end, including this one. Maya’s cheeks were flushed, but she was all smiles. Much to the Franziska’s surprise, she wrapped her arms around the curvier figure in front of her, saying, “Thanks for the dance, Franny!”

Just this once, she allows herself the smallest of smiles, even when she was called such a foolishly childish name by the fool who had foolishly incurred these feelings in her.

And still, she was satisified.
