Eh? Blah...

Jan 23, 2008 08:58

Argh. It's that time of the month again and I'm going C-R-A-Z-Y. I'm just eating and eating and eating. I'm so freakin' bloated and huge. I'm an effin' blimp, people! Bloated, blimp, broke. Boo! Anyway...

1. So sad to hear about Heath Ledger's death. As Abi's YM status says, what a waste. Is it dying season or something? Brad Renfro just died, and so did Bobby Fischer. Kath's right, "Kung hindi sila nanganganak, namamatay sila." Only in Hollywood.

Here in the office, Karla's lolo and Gale's lola both died this month. And then there's Ma'am Che-che's family. Her dad died late last year, then her mom died a few weeks later. And then her sister succumbed to cancer just after New Year.

Hmm... I'm starting to think I'm becoming all desensitized to death. Death desensitivity, is there even such a thing? Gawd. This is definitely the hormones talking.

2. We had our first ever Mega B status meeting last Monday morning. And damn, saying we had some issues to work out was a serious underestimation. Thankfully, everything was brought out in the open so it's not as tense here in the office. My team had a status meeting as well in the afternoon. We're all good now. =)

3. Ooh... the Backstreet Boys are coming! For those who don't know, BSB is my favorite boy band. Hehe. So that's BSB on February 27, Ne-Yo on February 29 and Maroon 5 on March 5. Those are the ones I'm watching. There's also My Chemical Romance on Friday and Incubus on March 9. Oh my gulaman, I'm gonna be even more broke.

4. Claire and I bought the complete Hip-Hop Abs collection in St. Francis Square last, last Friday. Tried it last weekend and it kicks ass. It's sooo much fun. You'll sweat a lot, too! I'm not one to condone video piracy, (no, file sharing is not piracy... thin line, people!) but no way am I paying 2,400++ buckaroos for it when I can get it for 70 pesos. Down with capitalism! Hahaha.

5. I'm really loving Urbandub's and Sara Bareilles' and new albums.

6. Congrats to Luj and Mel on their new jobs! =)

7. I downloaded Chocolatier 2: Secret Ingredients last Sunday and it's even more addictive than the first PC game. I only get four hours of sleep now, instead of my usual seven since I started working. (Not counting those Project Epicure days of course.)

8. The fam and I went to DFA yesterday to have our passports renewed. I've been hearing and reading about these horror stories of having to go there at 2 or 3 a.m. because of unusually long lines, which is saying a lot because this is the Philippines after all and we're used to this by now. For those who don't know, personal appearance is now required even for renewal because the new Philippine passport is machine-readable (and maroon in color). Meaning those immigration officers in other countries won't have to type our names anymore when we go through immigration. I've more than once seen the horror on an immigration officer's face when he/she sees five Philippine passports to process at one time. Hahaha.

Anyway, when I got there, it wasn't that bad. We were in and out in an hour. That's because we had an accredited travel agency help us out. (Iba yun sa mga fixer na umaaligid sa may Libertad noh! Teka, alam n'yo ba kung saan yung Libertad? Hahaha.) Sure, we had to pay thrice the processing fee, but the convenience was more than worth it.

9. We're moving out of the projects yo. Hahaha. Not really moving out, moving out. We're just getting a three-bedroom condo here in Ortigas. We've been house-hunting for a few weeks and we can't seem to find the perfect built house. We think we have a winner and then we see a huge flaw. Same old story. So my parents decided to get a condo for now, just so we can move out of the boondocks. (It just ain't the same neighborhood. Ang gulo na talaga dun. Seryoso.) We're just gonna buy a lot and build our dream house. =) Ang arte talaga namin. Hahaha.

10. I'm seeing the barkada on Saturday for brunch! (So Sex and the City, noh?) Whee... =) Buti na lang kahati ko si Kri sa libre. I'm so broke talaga. As in. I really wish I could live on less, but I can't! I told my dad he should be prepared to feed me for life. And I've been pushing my bros to become professionals (doctor and architect) so they can give me moolah in the future. Mwahahahaha. I'm such a pwet talaga. My parents told me to marry a rich guy na lang, which is REALLY stretching it. Hence, I will be destitute.

I'm out like Justine Henin.
