Wow. Wow. WOW.
Just beautiful. Whee... I'm still on a musical high. =)
It was nice to watch a concert without all the screaming fan girls (i.e. FOB and BSB).
Mel and I caught Vertical Horizon last night at Araneta. It was freakin' awesome. I shit you not. It was kind of a surprise to find out last month that they were coming over, as their last album came out four years ago. My officemates were like "Wala na ba silang pera?" Hahaha. It was... exquisitely entertaining. =) Really. I haven't enjoyed a show this much since the Backstreet Boys last year. I sang along to most of the songs. I was bobbing my head and practically jumping the entire time. I swear, the music just moved me. I couldn't sit down. (Mel thinks I'm crazy na talaga. Hahaha.)
I think the band was moved as well. It was their first time in Asia and, like I said, they released Go in 2003. I have a feeling they were just floored when the crowd put their hands together and sang loudly and proudly during the last chorus of Send It Up, which is a relatively unknown song elsewhere.
As the title says, it was the best 1,575 pesos I ever spent (front row upper A). Not only did we get great music from Vertical Horizon, but we were treated to the sorta new sound of the new Rivermaya (a band I've been a fan of since grade school) and the comedic stylings of Jamie Kennedy. Yes, Jamie Kennedy was there in the flesh in Araneta. "Merry Christmas = Gusto ko makita utang mo." "Hiroshima? Are you still pissed about that?" Hahaha. Benta.
I didn't even know Rivermaya and Jamie Kennedy were gonna be there until the whole thing started. Rivermaya performed a whole set. Jamie Kennedy did stand-up for around 30 minutes, I think. Great show. Great crowd. Great energy.
You know, come to think of it, I didn't really enjoy FOB all that much. Maybe it was the screaming fan girls. Maybe it was because Mama Lola was suddenly rushed to the hospital that day (and my parents didn't tell Paco and I she was in a coma until after the concert). Maybe FOB wasn't really into it. Maybe... eh. Ewan.
This is turning out to be a fantabulous weekend. Project Epicure is finally done (well, at least my part is), so no more last-minute sleepovers at the office. I got to watch Vertical Horizon, Jamie Kennedy and Rivermaya all in one night. The barkada and I are off to Carlo's place in Laguna for barbecue and poker. Hay... life is great. =) (But work still sucks. Haha.)
17 days till Christmas! And I have yet to do my Christmas shopping. (Damn you, Epicure!)
I'm out like Jason Kidd. (Okay... no one got that.)
