Whether David Beckham really bleated about not getting his K doesn't worry me, the honours list is too full of jobsworths anyway - a career minded civil servant once said to me that, if he didn't tell the truth or rape the typist (this was the sexist 60s), he'd end up in the honours list. He didn't, so I wonder which he did! What does rile me, though, is that a Knight's wife is titled "Lady". The husband of a woman who gets the female equivalent, being made a Dame, may have been just as supportive as any wife yet he gets nothing. Women, refuse to be dames until your husband, should you have one, is put on a par with a knight's wife. Suggestions for his title welcome.
