I AM DYING FOR SLEDGE AND HIS NEW BOYFRIENDS TO SHOW UP. Asdfghjk those pictures make me love them sfm already.
It's lacking the camaraderie feeling that makes BoB so much fun and so charming. (Yes, I'm still making comparisons! So are you. :P) THIS EXACTLY. With BoB, we got Currahee, we got one group of guys who bonded and fought and did everything together and now with this series we have three different groups of guys and not enough time per ep, etc. Sure, we get them out home before and I'm guessing after the war, but it's not the same lolol. Still. I'm loving this series.
Oh man I thought it was just me too! At least we can commiserate? /o\ It's not like I WANTED to dislike one of the main characters, he just... grates on me. His smirks and his attitude are not Liebgott-adorable, they're just annoying. Blah. I agree, it was a waste of a good shore leave episode. :-/
Just wanted to say hi and let you know I'm friending you. I saw your name pop up on my flist in relation to Generation Kill and Band of Brothers and I seriously need more awesome people who are interested in those on my flist.
And to be on topic, I'm still very much on the fence in regards to the Pacific. I haven't watched the 3rd ep all the way through yet but it didn't catch my interest very much in what I did see. I'm not sure if it's an overload of watching BoB (Umm...5 times through in roughly the span of a week. Hello, my name is Zippit and I'm addicted to Band of Brothers.) or how they're deciding to tell this side of the WWII story or something else altogether. During the first two episodes, I was all "why isn't this more like BoB?"
I don't particularly care for anyone. Basilone is badass but there's not enough of him and Leckie makes my screen very unpretty. /shallow The Pacific seems to be missing a lot of the factors that made BoB such a tour de force and only seems to further diverge from that magic as the series goes
Hello there! Thanks for calling me an awesome people. ;) More BoB and GK fangirls is always a good thing! Welcome, and I'll friend you back!
Yeah, I'm still not convinced by The Pacific. However, I have a feeling that I might be by the appearance of Eugene. It will never be Band of Brothers, but there could still be some really enjoyable stuff coming up, so I am definitely reserving my opinion until we have the whole story! (Good to know I'm not the only one re: Leckie - I am so UNattracted to him! Idk.)
