Wow. (BSG 3x1 through 3x4)
So tonight I played BSG catchup. I hadn't even finished watching the premiere of the season, so I had a lot to catch up on - spent about 3 hours, and now I've seen through tonight.
Oh my frakking god. This show is AMAZING. It had me in tears at least 5 times in Exodus Pt 2.
I think my favorite moment was Galactica hurtling through the atmosphere and then jumping away in a blaze of fire. Grabbed my heartstrings and PULLED. So beautiful.
I also loved Pegasus going out in such a wonderful blaze of glory. YAY LEE!
Kara... oh Kara. KARA. She remains far and above my favorite character in the entire show. Oh gods. The love she developed for Casey, and then when she was RIPPED AWAY - oh I felt my heart go with her. I was crying mostly for Starbuck at the end. Oh, HONEY. God, this isn't going to fuck her up at ALL >.<
All the Adama love was just exploding the entire time.. *meeps* YAY FOR CLOSE MALE FAMILIAL BONDS.
It totally broke my heart when Tigh had to kill Ellen. I mean, I hated her, but her heart was (kinda) in the right place, and gods the sacrifice he made.... ow ow ow.
BSG is so brilliant at putting everyone through hell and high water and then coming out in the end with a victory that feels neither cheap nor easy - they paid a huge price, and the celebration is anything but untainted. Just... so many emotional chords got struck through this whole plotline. I can't even handle it *flaily hands*
So, so good.
So what's that other show again? Super... supersomething?
