I think you're letting Bella off the hook too easily. Or should I say, Jake is letting Bella off the hook too easily. I don't know why there's always that warped little part of me that really wants Jake to struggle between his memories of being in love with Bella and the female in his life currently. Like, on equal ground. I always want him to legitimately have found someone he could care about equally. Then I don't care who he picks - but I want him to really be grounded in a real relationship other than his effed-up semblance of a relationship with Bella. I guess I just want him to have experienced and appreciated what it's like to have a girl love him, appreciate him and respect him whole-heartedly, and to seriously ponder if he wants to give that up for what he never had with Bella, and really doesn't know if he could ever have with Bella ( ... )

Thanks hun! And no worries, things aren't going to be *that* easy. I didn't want Jake to completely flip (at least not yet ha) because he has grown up and matured.

And hey, I get it. As was hinted at, his relationship is casual because he didn't want to (or maybe even couldn't) be serious with someone. There could quite possibly be stronger feelings there yet with Lila that they aren't aware of. It's mostly just a mess and she was only just introduced. :)

And yes, there could very well be jealousy, and Jake isn't going to run willy-nilly right back to Bella. LOL Thanks for reading!

Geez, ignore my delirious review. It was about 3 in the morning and I was bleary-eyed sleepy and apparently just wanted to write about my feelings on Jacob in my half-asleep state, rather than comment on your story. LOL Sorry.

"You expect to come back and magically be forgiven? It's not that fucking easy, Jacob."
As I said in my previous comment about Bella's return, I think they should be a little easier on him. Having the courage to come back, face your past and apologise to those you hurt, that's quite admirable. It's hard having everyone cut you down anyways.
But then again, it is part of the process that's called facing your past.

You're addressing something that's bothered me throughout the entire saga, namely the Cullens treating Bella like an infant. And thank you for letting her acknowledge that.

I took out the box of candy hearts, held them tightly in my hand, and tried to fight back the tears.
Subtle, but very clear to those who have read the books and shipped this pairing for a long time. Such a happy memory of a happy, carefree moment :(

Gotta disagree with Willow though. In my opinion, saying "I guess I just want him to have experienced and appreciated what it's like to have a girl love him, appreciate him and respect him whole-heartedly, ( ... )

but I'll be damned if she didn't love Jacob.
Yes, she did. But she didn't do it right. Not the way he deserved.
That's what I meant.

I'll agree with the "not the way he deserved" :)

I pretty much felt the same way. I think Bella in the books is an idiot and didn't make choices right on her own anyway (but if given the *chance* maybe she could have realized...) But anyway, I (unfortunately) watched BFail last night and was continually annoyed at how she just let them pick out her clothes, the day, the decorations, blah blah. Granted, that wasn't quite shown except for the shoe bit, but I remembered that. She was like their pet.

So yeah, I wanted that addressed. I would be so irritated if someone treated me like a moron.

Bella does love and appreciate him for who he is. For me, that's the sole reason I ship this. Bella is obsessed, infatuated with Edward and his looks, but she's genuinely in love with Jacob, as genuinely as two teenagers in fucked up supernatural circumstances can be in love. Yes, she's selfish as fuck and seems to not give a ( ... )

Okay...I couldn't not click on the next chap... yeah, I'm kinda not sorry... lol
*sigh* That description about how Charlie suffered...*gulps* was hard to read, I can (?) imagine what it might feel like to write it.
I think Bella needs to see clearly what destruction she left behind but Jacob will have to see the same thing through with her and with the pack too. I just don't know, if the pack has such a difficulty to forgive Jacob, how will they ever forgive Bella???
I also loved the way Bella acknowledged the being an infant among the Cullens...literally and metaphorically too. Never did, never will understand how she doesn't see the age difference as an issue.
(Okay, now I'm really going to bed. Tomorrow is another day, right?)
Love, Tunde

Thanks! I'm glad you did! I think we all have those moments sometimes.. and it certainly makes me happy when it's something I wrote. :) And yes, it was hard to write that flashback for Charlie's reaction. :\ Poor guy.

With the pack.. they were hurt, but these are guys.. I don't think they tend to hold grudges too much. It might take time, but they do love Jake. :)

Glad you liked that! I felt it necessary to mention because of how she was treated and coddled. She was like their child.. or pet. Whichever. That would work MY nerves! Anyway, thank you for the review.. and hope you got enough sleep. ;)

Any story written where Bella comes to her senses, is a story for me. And Jake needed to let her know what she had done, she never thinks about the consequences and only thinks of her self. I like when people confront her and show her how selfish she is. What she did to Charlie was bang out of order. She can only just say sorry, but really what she did needs more then a sorry.

Great chapter.

Thanks! She does need to prove herself along with the apologies. And yes, she definitely needed a dose of what she had done, though she is trying.. so I give her points for that. :)
