I think you're letting Bella off the hook too easily. Or should I say, Jake is letting Bella off the hook too easily. I don't know why there's always that warped little part of me that really wants Jake to struggle between his memories of being in love with Bella and the female in his life currently. Like, on equal ground. I always want him to legitimately have found someone he could care about equally. Then I don't care who he picks - but I want him to really be grounded in a real relationship other than his effed-up semblance of a relationship with Bella. I guess I just want him to have experienced and appreciated what it's like to have a girl love him, appreciate him and respect him whole-heartedly, and to seriously ponder if he wants to give that up for what he never had with Bella, and really doesn't know if he could ever have with Bella ( ... )

Thanks hun! And no worries, things aren't going to be *that* easy. I didn't want Jake to completely flip (at least not yet ha) because he has grown up and matured.

And hey, I get it. As was hinted at, his relationship is casual because he didn't want to (or maybe even couldn't) be serious with someone. There could quite possibly be stronger feelings there yet with Lila that they aren't aware of. It's mostly just a mess and she was only just introduced. :)

And yes, there could very well be jealousy, and Jake isn't going to run willy-nilly right back to Bella. LOL Thanks for reading!

Geez, ignore my delirious review. It was about 3 in the morning and I was bleary-eyed sleepy and apparently just wanted to write about my feelings on Jacob in my half-asleep state, rather than comment on your story. LOL Sorry.

Well if you don't write it, I will! LOL Some day... Jacob deserves it.
The closest anyone ever came to this scenario is lilabut, and I can't remember the name of the fic, but Jacob fell in love with a girl named Olivia (who I really liked), when Bella left with Edward. Olivia broke up with Jacob, not vice-versa, when Bella came back, because she sensed from the beginning that Jacob had been hurt badly, and knew that his feelings for Bella were not resolved. It was bittersweet, though. He and Olivia had genuine feelings for each other, and he slept with her.
*grumbles* Wish I could remember the name of the fic!
mera_naam also wrote a fantastic fic where Bella goes away to school, and slowly Jacob is just over her. She comes back to visit, exactly the same old Bella, and he's just not interested anymore. Years later, a grown-up and much different Bella returns, and they get to know each other as adults, with respect, and fall in love again. I would highly rec both fics! Sorry. Didn't mean to ramble on. You're probably sorry you even ( ... )

See now you got me racking my brain about a fic. There was another one were Bella came back to town and she was in her car watching as Jake played with his kids and laughed with his wife. He had no regrets while she had tons, she kept her composure though and left them to be in the park happy and whatnot. What I loved was that, it didn't leave you wondering if he felt something for her, you knew by the end he was content with his life. But I can't remember if he had imprinted or not.

Oh! Oh! I read that one too! But on JBNP, and it was to the music of Adele - Someone Like You! And no, he didn't imprint (thank god - I HATE imprinting!), just fell in love and had kids.
Haha! Now I'm racking my brain for a fic, too. But that is bad *smacks hand* because I'm in the middle of two new ones right now. So you do it!
