Purpose: Christmas gift exchange
Location: Anywhere on the train (mostly in the lounge)
Time: Mid-morning to evening on December 25th
Warnings: Possibly angered passengers who dislike their gifts.

Summary: It's time for the passengers to exchange presents with their partners and whoever else they bought things for.

Tsuuma sat beside the tree with her bag of gifts, waiting for any of those she'd bought gifts for to come along so she could give them out. She'd actually been surprised by how many thing's she'd bought. She didn't realize she'd made so many friends here! Tsuuma smiled to herself and looked at the bag beside her.

Asuka was walking up to Tsuuma, already expecting a gift from her like she had from everyone else on the train. Lifting some hair away from her face, she looked down at the catwoman, though tried not to gawk at her ears again. "Hello. I'm here to pick up my gift from you, if you don't mind."

Tsuuma smiled and dug through her bag, pulling out an obviously soft, wrapped gift. She held it up to Asuka, not seeming to grasp how selfish or snobby her assumption that Tsuuma had something for her might have been. The tag read "To: The pretty red haired girl." Inside the wrapping paper was a pretty kimono that Tsuuma had found. With it was a small note that read

Dear Pretty Red Haired Girl,

You seemed a bit down the other day. I thought this might cheer you up a bit. I thought it would look nice on you.

After reading the note, she looked down at Tsuuma, wondering why she would buy her something just because she didn't look well the other day. Asuka opened the box, peering in at the kimono. While it was an odd gift, she did appreciate it deep down, even if she didn't like Japanese customs or anything of that kind.

"I hope you like it. I didn't know what sort of things you liked, but I thought it would look very pretty on you." Tsuuma gave a calm, somewhat cheerful smile, hoping that she hadn't bought something inappropriate for the girl. "A-Also I'm sorry about the tag.. I don't think I ever learned your name."

Giving her a tiny grin, she replied, "I'm Asuka Langley Soryu. Thank you for the kimono. I don't usually wear them since I'm not a native...but maybe I can wear this for New Year's Eve since you're supposed to for traditional Japanese New Year's."

"It's very nice to meet you, Soryu-san." Tsuuma smiled. "My name is Tsuuma." she felt a bit awkward since beastmen tended not to have last names. "I'm glad you like it. I..I don't know anything about cultures here. I just thought it was rather pretty."

She looked at the garment once again, sighing a little at how she wished she had gotten something less Japanese, though she did not voice her disapproval. "It'll probably suit me fine." The German remarked, admiring it some more. "...I...should go collect more of my presents." Asuka wasn't sure why, but she felt uncomfortable all of a sudden.

Tsuuma gave a small nod and smiled. "I hope you have a nice holiday, Soryu-san." She was glad the girl seemed to like it, glad she'd gotten at least a small smile from her.

As Madarame wandered about, he caught a glimpse of Tsuuma sitting near the tree. "This is my chance..." He thought with some confidence. "I hope she likes my present. This is a do or die moment. Hopefully, I'll get her approval.." Slowly, he glanced down at it, wondering if it really would be good enough for her.

Approaching her, he gave her a wave. "Happy holidays, Tsuuma-san."

Tsuuma's ears went up at the familiar voice and she gave a bright smile. "Ah!! Madarame-san! Happy Holidays!"

She quickly turned to her bag, digging out a pair of wrapped boxes, tied together by a ribbon. She held it out to him and smiled. "These are for you."

He was surprised that she had gotten him two gifts... And he only got her one. Hanging his head a bit, he looked down at them, taking just one from her hand. "I'm sorry... I only got you one gift..." In the box, there was a bottle of fancy perfume. Madarame figured that a sophisticated woman as herself would want something like that for Christmas.

"A-Ah.. It's all right!" Tsuuma gave a smile, "I just couldn't decide between the two, and since I had some extra money I thought I would buy both."

She unwrapped the box and looked inside, carefully removing the bottle. "It's so pretty." She examined the little bottle. She took off the cap, sniffing it carefully. "Ah! It's a pretty smell." She looked up to Madarame, replacing the cap. "Thank you, Madarame-san!"

She smiled, tilting her head a bit. "Open them!" Within one wrapped box was a figure of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. In the other was a figure of the President from his Kujibiki show. Included with the President figure was a folded up note that read

The first gift he opened was the Gurren Lagann model. Grinning, he looked at her. "Wow! This is so awesome! It looks almost exactly like the one on the show and the paint job that was done on it is excellent!"

When he opened the second, his smile faded. "Ritsuko..." Madarame couldn't help but think back to Saki and the Genshiken for a moment. Then he proceeded to read the note. As soon as he finished it, he re-read it, feeling something odd within himself.

It had been a long time since he had felt so sentimental over anything like this, that time being when he had last spoken to Saki by himself in the club room. Breathing deeply, he looked at her again. For once, he didn't try to re-think what he had to say to someone important to him, he knew that it was the right thing to say. "...I'll...always treasure these things, Tsuuma-san..."

Tsuuma smiled, very glad that he seemed to like his gifts. "I'm glad you like them. Thank you very much for the perfume." She was afraid it would sound odd to repeat his comment, but she would treasure it dearly. It was something from a good friend, and even when she returned home, she'd have it to think back on. "Its wonderful, Madarame-san."
