Madarame + Kenshin 72yroldpitviper December 23 2008, 18:24:55 UTC
Near the tree, Madarame stood, holding the present he had bought Kenshin in his hands. He wondered if he had made the right choice in buying him a bonsai plant at the dollar store. Not that he saw Kenshin as being much of gardener, but he had heard that taking care of a bonsai plant was an excellent way to relax.

Kenshin wandered into the lounge and over to Madarame, carrying a large canvas scroll over his shoulder and his sword at his side, as always.
"Hello, Madarame-dono."

"Kenshin-sama." Madarame greeted him with a bow. "I've been waiting for you to arrive... I hope you'll enjoy this offering for you." He then presented him with the bonsai plant.

"Oh!" Kenshin smiled and took the plant.
"This One tried to keep one of these before... but it was unfortunately stepped on." Kenshin sighed. Sano was never careful around the dojo.

Kenshin took the large canvas and handed it to Madarame.
"This One felt somewhat lost in the... very strange market... so he did the best he could."

To Kenshin's first statment, he sheepishly smiled and shrugged. "Ah, I see... That happens sometimes. Hopefully, you won't have the same problem here on the train." Taking the canvas from him, he carefully rolled it open to look at what it had. "What's this?"

It was a very large print of Katsushika Hokusai's The Great Wave Off Kanagawa on nice canvas.

"This One hopes you like it. The impression of This One was that you enjoyed collecting things and this one had several friends who enjoyed collecting wood-block prints... though he has never seen one this large."

Despite not being a big fan of traditional Japanese prints, he was still extremely excited that he had just received a present. From Kenshin. Internally, he squeed like a fangirlboy. "Thank you very much! I really love it! ...In fact, I might hang it up in my room tonight!" That of which was not a lie, he was already thinking of which spot to put it in.

"Ah, that's good. This One had hoped Madarame-dono would like it... to be honest, this one was not sure of himself for this... after all, this one is not exactly clear on what this "Christmas" is."

Molly + Dr. Hojo powerfulbruiser December 23 2008, 18:57:38 UTC
Molly held the package with the Santa PEZ dispenser and candies in her arms as she waited for this 'Dr. Hojo' to come to her. Having no idea of who he was or how he even looked like, she decided to shout his name out in an effort to identify him. "HEY! DOCTOR HOJO, OVER HERE!" Hopefully, he wasn't deaf (or had become such as of now).

Appearing behind Molly, holding something behind his back, Hojo grimaced.
"Augh! Ooh!! My ears!!" Frowning at Molly, he pulled one arm away from his back and pushed his glasses up. "Why do you have to yell so loudly? I might be old, but I'm not deaf!! Ugh!"

Mika + Ema not_just_white December 23 2008, 23:03:40 UTC
Mika wandered around the lounge a bit nervously, seeking out Ema. Giving the gift to her was what this whole deal was about, right? In any case, she kept it hidden in a nice little box and hoped that her exchange partner would show up so she could get it over with.

"Greetings, Mika." Ema approached her, wearing her trademark pink glasses over her eyes as she had been looking for suspicious stains in the dining cart. She gave her a look-over, wondering if her clothes might harbor a 'dirty secret' of some kind. It appeared they did not. "We're to trade presents, right?"

"Oh, Ema!" Mika was a little surprised that she was the one to be spotted first. "Yeah, that's right. Uh... here you go." Putting on her best smile, she took the box with her present and offered it to Ema, figuring she might as well take the initiative.

"Thank you very much!" Clutching the gift, she one hand, she took out the one for Mika with the other. "Here you go! I hope you enjoy it!" Inside the box, she had bought a (tacky) Christmas sweater for Mika at the dollar store. Granted, it was probably too big for her to wear.

"Thanks." About to open the gift, she wondered if Ema would appreciate the assortment of small perfume bottles she picked out shortly after the two had talked to each other at Lotus Blossom Central. Mika kept an eye on Ema to see if she would begin opening the box.
