Rose showed up at the field right on time, eager to start the event. She loved catching fireflies (or glowworms, as she called them) on summer nights at home, and she obviously hadn't had a chance to do anything like it since boarding the train-- so when she heard about this little outing, she jumped at the chance to participate. And with real fortunes as prizes? That just made things all the better.

Heading immediately over to the reception desk (it wasn't dark enough to go out to the field yet), she picked up one of the information fliers and started reading it-- or, more accurately, skimming it. It didn't look very interesting.

Rally was rather pleased to see Rose show up for the event. Giving the girl a smile from across the desk, he went on to try making her feel welcome.

"It looks like you're the first one here! Do you have any questions?" He wondered if she was looking for a particular piece of information, seeing her grab a flier as quickly as she did.

"I don't think so..." Rose glanced up at Rally, then back at the field behind her. "When do we get to go out there?"

"We'll wait for a few more people to get here." He responded to her question, hoping his answer wouldn't bother her much. "If it gets too late, though, I think we can let you get a head start."

She looked pleased. "Really?" Setting down the rules sheet-- if she had any questions, she could just ask him directly instead of searching for the answer on the paper. Much better that way! "That's not cheating?"

"No, I wouldn't say so." He chuckled a bit along with his answer. "It's not a competition, so as long as everyone gets a chance at some point it should be fine."

"But we get fortunes if we catch enough right?" she asked expectantly.

"Yes, that's right." He pointed out her correctness. "Catch a couple and bring them back here to the fortune booth. Even just one would cut it, if you think that's all you need."

"I'm going to catch as many as I can!" she said emphatically. "Does that mean I get a lot of fortunes? Or just one?"

"I'm pretty sure you get one fortune." Rally replied, perhaps not entirely certain. "It will depend on what different fireflies you bring back. Having two red ones gives a different fortune than having a red one and a blue one."

"What's the difference?" She looked at him solemnly. Fortunes were important.

Beat was standing by the desk, a huge goofy grin on his face. Of course, he had never been out to catch fireflys; he grew up in the city, he'd never even seen them before. He let his mind wander back a bit and thought of Rhyme, and how she would have enjoyed catching the flying lights. Beat wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, but he figured he owed Tami one anyway from accidentally hurting her, and hell, it looked like fun anyway!

Amadeus walked up behind Beat, not really sure how he'd ended up on this mission, but it at least sounded entertaining. And he had always enjoyed seeing fortune tellers back home. Though he'd never seen it done with fireflies. At home it was always done with thread. So curiosity got the better of him. And at least it didn't seem to involve fighting like most of the other missions this train seemed to engage in.

"This is quite the interesting assignment."

He turned on the spot. Normally, Beat would have hit someone for surprising him like that, but he was in a good mood and just smiled back at Amadeus. "Yo, yer tellin' me! Nothin' wrong wit' jes' relaxin' like dis though."

Then Amadeus got lucky. He's not a big fan of being hit. He likely would have turned into a snake and hid somewhere.

"Yes, it is nice to have a rather relaxing mission for once." HE smiled and extended a hand. "I do not believe we have met. My name is Amadeus Cross."
