001. [video/action for Route 43]

[There had been some definite toying around on this particular connection today, the screen flickering off and on as the PGC's functions were flipped from video to voice to text and back - anyone with a reasonably quick eye may have caught glimpses of amber eyes and long black hair, and perhaps sharp features holding an expression that seemed more ( Read more... )

Alchemy doesn't work here. And a lot of things don't make sense here.

Such an unpleasant reaction! If I didn't know better, I'd say you weren't happy to see me here.

[As calm though his tone is, that response he's received is definitely an odd one; while he wouldn't exactly say he was ever on pleasant terms with Edward Elric, surely their last...encounter...of sorts...couldn't be considered a negative one, either, could it?]

Would you like to explain that latter part, Fullmetal?

Well, blowing up the building I was in and nearly killing me doesn't exactly make you a friend of mine.

I don't see any reason why I should help you. I already gave you more info than you deserve.

[...right.]

I should say not; at the same time, that was months ago, and I would think your priorities would have shifted some between then and now.

Oh? Well, maybe for you. Johto has this weird thing with time. It pulls people from different worlds and at different points on the time line. For me, that explosion only happened a few moments before I got pulled in here.

I...see.

[Only it's...fairly obvious from his tone that he really, really doesn't. Let's. Just. Work with this. Shall we?]

Well, if that truly is the case, then perhaps your bitterness is warranted. Would you like some sort of apology?

No. I doubt it'd be genuine.

Some appreciate the gesture, regardless. I'm certainly not going to force it on you either way.

The only thing I'd appreciate from you is to leave everyone alone.

Oh, come now. There's no need to be so rude about the matter.

Although if that truly is the case, then perhaps you'll cooperate when it comes to telling me what you know. Or shall I simply seek out some of the others? I'll get answers about this place one way or another, mind you; it's simply in your best interest to supply them yourself.

[Admittedly, he has no way of knowing exactly who is here; however, it's unlikely that he and Ed are the only people from Amestris that managed to end up in this place, isn't it?]

Tck.

First off, that thing following you around? It's not a chimera. It's called a Pokemon. Think of it as your helpful pet you use to fight other Pokemon and defend yourself.

Second, this place really doesn't make much sense in general. If you look at a map, you'll notice some places you can't reach without crossing a large body of water. For some reason, even if you have a Pokemon that can swim, they apparently can't carry you across unless you teach them a certain move. The same goes with a flying Pokemon. Even if it can fly and it's big enough to carry you, it won't unless you teach it a certain move. Don't expect to get any good information from the locals either. They just repeat the same thing over and over.

There's a theory going around that challenging gym leaders in certain towns and collecting the eight badges here, then defeating the 'Elite Four' will get us home, but so far, no one's been able to prove or disprove it.

Happy now?

[Well! That worked rather well in the end, didn't it.]

Yes, that's much better. Completely nonsensical, of course, I suppose it's no more so than the rest of this place.

It's good to know that you're still capable of seeing reason, Fullmetal - I'm sure we would both prefer that we not make this any more difficult than it really needs to be, wouldn't we?
