I Have a Job
Today was great and quite exciting. Here is how everthing went down.
Sunday: My dad found a want ad in the paper for music industry. The place had four job openings. Two of them seemed to apply to me. One was for part-time marketing representative and the other one was to be on the Conference staff. The conference staff works with the Hard Rock Cafe and brings in new artists to get them record deals. I figured I'd call them Monday to say I was interested.
Monday: I took Riley for a walk and when we got back I decided the call XMG International. I left a message saying I was interested in the job.
Tuesday: I didn't get any call so I figured I'd also send them my resume.
Wednesday: I got a call at 9:15 a.m. that they wanted me to come to the office to fill out an application and meet the guy incharge. Plus i found out I needed to take Riley to see Dr. Wright because he seemed to be really tired from his medication. So we went for a walk. When we got back I took a shower and got him in the house and into his crate. At 1:30 I drove to XMG International to fill out the application. The Receptionist took me to the conference room and I asked her if she wanted my resume. She took and she apparently showed Matt (the guy incharge). He was impressed with the experience I had and with the fact that I was a PR major and a Music Industry major. So he offered me an immediate position of the part-time marketing representative. Plus he said he would help me in anyway he could to get my internships done so I can graduate in May. At that time he wants to promote me to a full time position. As soon as everything checked out, I got a call that I start Monday. I work Monday - Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
I still can't believe that I got a job in the music industry in Eveleth, MN.
