Disappearing Act

Some of you probably remember the days when this journal seemed like a compelling collection of quirky essays on strange pop cultural fixations told in an idiosyncratic style. On the other hand, those of you who don't remember those days would likely respond to this claim with an indignant, "What the hell is he talking about? I just thought that Katie West avatar was HOTT! I mean, I'd hit it."

So where did it all go? Well a great chunk of it went to strange places --- an Ultimate Marvel comic book message board, my secret livejournals and the Garbage In, Garbage Out blogs. What leftovers there are here have taken the form of essays on transgendered cosplay, the potential rudeness to be had at meeting famous British writers and the eroticization of news and current affairs celebrities.

The point of all this ramble is that if any of you are looking what probably made this journal worth looking at in the first place, then you will find some of it in Bento Physics, a group-blog on anime, manga and other things J-pop, which I currently share with a digicanvas vandal of a girlfriend. She's the fire of the operation --- wielding an incendiary verve and can-do spirit that gets posts done --- while I play the role of editorial gargoyle savagely standing watch over material as well as the immediate animanga blogosphere with the same dedication I have for mixed metaphors.

We initially chose to keep this endeavor an unspoken one, but now that we've got a few posts under our belt and seem to have caught the attention of some of our favorite J-pop blogs, I feel confident enough to proclaim my pride from the top of the mountains elevated walkways.

Go visit BENTO PHYSICS. You will 'genki' BENTO PHYSICS. You will 'aishiteru' BENTO PHYSICS.
