Mornin' everybody.

So, I have a bunch of medical concerns I've been putting off and I don't have a regular doctor (I've been to a couple of doctors here, but only on an emergency basis, and none of them particularly convenient to where I live). If I were in Americaland, I'd go to a GP and then get referrals for any specialists I might need who're in my health plan, but I'm not sure if that works here or if the doctor will just say "I don't do that, so you need to go find a ~~~ologist. Good luck!"

I was thinking of going to a big hospital nearby, like maybe Tokyo Igaku Byouin at Nishi-Shinjuku, going to see a GP/internal medicine specialist and getting a physical and blood pressure check and then just maybe asking for advice re: allergies and asthma problems I have (I also need a refill of asthma prescriptions I got earlier this year at an ER). And a potential something-or-other I want checked on my arm. And anything else I can remember. Does that sound reasonable...? Any advice? Recommendations?

Of course, some amazing can-do-everything English-speaking doctor who accepts national health insurance would be nice too. But I'm not holding my breath, lol. I've only seen Japanese-speaking doctors before and I'm not dead yet.

medical/health, general advice
