Hey, so I'm finally applying for jobs and I have a couple of questions...
1.) I went to the ECC interview and I don't think I did very well on the test; unlike what I've heard from others' experiences, we did ours at the end, so I don't know for sure how I did. I'm going to an AEON interview soon and I was just wondering what the test for that was like and what I should study, I'm mostly bad at spelling and recognizing parts of speech.
2.) I have a feeling the answer to this question is no, but do eikaiwa that hire in the US / Canada have to follow US or Canadian hiring discrimination laws? The ECC interviewer expressed his concern both about me being young and being petite, and I've heard others have had this same experience with ECC. I know that US companies cannot take either into account in deciding whether to hire someone. I'm not sure if ECC is the right company for me anyway, but it would suck if I didn't get hired because of something like that, especially since I've already had experience teaching people much much older than me and with interacting with Japanese businessmen in professional settings (and this was when I was 20...). Of course, he didn't give me any opportunities to explain this in the "interview."
If anyone has any other advise to give, that would be great! Thanks in advance.
