I've been put in charge of the Canadian table at my kids' school's International Night. (We live in the UK) Does anyone have any quintessentially Canadian food ideas I haven't thought of (

I'm always suprised to see lentils are always grown in Canada.
Granted these might not be quite identifiable enough but when I was a kid we ate:
Peanut butter & Jam sandwiches
Ants on a log - celery filled with peanut butter and line raisins up in a row down the peanut butter
Rice crispie squares- they are easy to make and apparently different than the UK recipe.

*Grin* even Macarroni and Chesse. It's a fairly dependable staple.

okay, i've never had ants on a log, but i'm trying that out on my kids this week! what a cool idea :)

You just listed all my favorite foods as a kid and my comfort foods as an adult :)
I'm American though.
Have you ever tried cream cheese and olives (pieces of olive cut up in the cream cheese) in celery sticks. Also very yummy.
