I suppose I'll follow the post-your-classes trend.  Spring 2010 consists of:

Aztec Civilization:  Extremely interesting.  I'm learning basic Nahuatl vocabulary!!!  The professor is an American [obviously native English speaker] and her pronunciation of Spanish and Nahuatl words and phrases makes me smile.

Effective Oral Communication:  Essentially public speaking.  Since switching to F&R Economics in the College of Agriculture, I have a couple of extra requirements for graduation that I want to get out of the way now.  We only have to give four speeches throughout the semester [not bad at all].

Agriculture & Environmental Quality:  Another small college requirement, and the title pretty much says it all.  I'll be covering things like land use, agricultural pollution, food/organic waste, composting, and pesticides.  I guess it's like my initiation into the world of agriculture.

Fruit for Fun and Profit:  One credit course on Horticulture.  Also, it's easily the best class ever.  At the end of every class, everyone gets two pieces of fruit and a cookie.  Today was Citrus day [we got tangerines], and I ran into Severin.

Survey of Orchids:  Another one credit course.  I'll be doing small online assignments thoughout the semester, and then attending a seminar for two full days in March and be done with the class.  Jesse gave me an orchid plant the first time he visited me in college, and even though it's still alive, it hasn't bloomed since.  I'd like to be able to know how to care for it properly, and knowing more about these flowers in general can't hurt either.

Survey of Calculus:  Attempt 3 at math at UF.  I hate myself for this.  The professor seems very straight-forward, which is good, and on the plus side, there's no online homework, which helps not to kill my final grade.  I used to spend hours plugging in variations of answers for a mere 4 points of homework credit.  You can't do complex math on a computer; it's ridiculous.

I'll be fencing five days a week this semester: 3 days of practice with the team, 2 days of lessons and training with my coach and a small group.  I accomplished a goal that I set for myself last semester to go to [at least] one competition every month, and I set it again for this semester.  I have a competition here in Gainesville at the end of the month, then Chicago next month, so that's already a good start.

I'm the most content now than I've been in a while.
