Personality: At first, Excellen seems to be a complete lunatic. She is extremely energetic, has a perverted and childlike sense of humor, seems to have little understanding of 'personal space', and makes terrible jokes or incorrectly quotes proverbs in-between quoting video games, movies, and anime to people that have no chance of recognizing them. People rarely understand what she is talking about and are often left wishing she is not doing whatever it is she is doing.
However, she is simply a master of obfuscating stupidity, wielding it with deadly and incomparable precision. She is actually an incredibly intelligent woman with an excellent perception of other people. She uses her bizarre and energetic personality to quickly befriend people, help people out of their shell, bring people together, lower stress, and to keep morale up--all of which are incredibly important when in a team of soldiers forced into the most deadly, dangerous, and important missions possible, many of said soldiers having particularly messed up pasts.
Excellen is incredibly compassionate. She prioritizes caring for those around her and will instantly take a motherly or sisterly role to anyone she finds in need of one, such as with Lamia Loveless, Einst Alfimi, and others. She does, however, recognize the need for tough love when necessary and will drop the cold truth on people when she knows they need it while others coddle them to avoid having to say the truth.
While she is crazy and kind, Excellen is also incredibly intelligent--in an alternate reality, she becomes a brilliant scientist and engineer--and dangerous: her many skills in battle can be summarized as being very, very, very fast while being very, very, very accurate from very, very, very far away; she is an excellent sniper and arguably one of the best, period. In a combined example of her intelligence and skills, she was able to pilot a newly-customized and unique mech (it was not only one of the first to make use of flying abilities, but also sniping) on its first test and within seconds, she was able to use it to successfully bulls-eye almost a half dozen high-speed missiles.
Although she is energetic and goofy even when she is being clever and deadly, Excellen is capable of behaving seriously. This happens predominantly when something terrible happens to someone--including friends, strangers, and even enemies--or she fails to help someone else; she also becomes grim and serious when talking about the Einsts and Shadow Mirror, particularly due to how she feels partially responsible for their actions and their fates due to her relation to Alfimi and Lemon. She does, however, try to keep the people that see her sad, angry, or depressed to a minimum, which often leaves her masking her pain behind her typical goofy behavior; often, even those she trusts enough (Kyosuke, Lamia) to let see this side of her need to pry her a bit to admit she is in pain.
All-in-all, though, she really does prefer simply being the goofy airheaded pervert AND is pretty much crazy.
