I think my external drive that I store everything on is gone. I turn it on, it's detected by my computer, but when it attempts to sync with a computer the hard drive light starts to flash on and off in a steady pattern. jynx512's computer arrived this afternoon... a week ahead of the estimated arrival time posted on the Dell website.

That's impressive... from order to arrive it was about 9 days total.

R1 Summit

Last weekend jynx512 and I headed to Richmond, VA to attend the R1 Summit.

The youngest of our furry brood, Munchkin, went in this moring for his operation at 8:30am... by this afternoon he'll be "female safe", if you know what I mean. This will be the last vist to the vet he'll need for a while, having gotten all his shots previously ( Read more... )

So I attempted to load my video drivers again... and the exact error message I described in my previous entries happened. So, this time I booted into the Vista DVD, ran the WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment: basically a very basic Vista GUI with some recovery commands) and ran System Restore to the point before I installed it... and it worked: ( Read more... )

Well, this weekend I actually went through with installing Vista onto my system. It's on, and it's working (as people in IRC have probably seen). I wish I could say it went as smooth as a baby's bottom but... it didn't. That's ok cause I was expecting problems. But here's a general rundown of the Weekend with Vista ( Read more... )

Upgrading
Ordered a 1GB stick of RAM from Tigerdirect.ca for my notebook last night in anticipation for placing Vista on the system... although I realize I'm probably going to be cursing my system for the next few months while Vista becomes more stable.
