This will be brief, as my left hand will not be fully pulling its weight in the typing operations for a few days.
The surgery yesterday morning, for the carpal tunnel syndrome in my left wrist and removal of a ganglion cyst, went very smoothly. The sedation was mild, with an intense local that numbed me from elbow to fingertip, so that I could chat with the surgeon the whole time. Weird, but interesting!
The folks got me breakfast/lunch at Eggspectation afterward, and got me home. I took the Tylenol 3 after the initial Percocet wore off, and kinda napped/zoned in front of the TV all afternoon. In the evening, I was hungry and ordered a pizza. And then, boom, nausea! This happened with my wisdom teeth in the summer too - I was fine for 8 or 10 hours, then got nauseated. Only mildly, but it was still around this morning. All seems fine now, but I am proceeding with caution.
Tomorrow I reckon I'll actually have to go back to work. The five days off have been like a mini-vacation, surgery or no, and it's been great! At least I only have to work three days before the next weekend. =)
