[The distant rumbling sounds were disconcerting, but considering the other recent events they were not all that surprising. All the information seemed to indicate the dairy as being the origin on the disturbance. The milkman himself being one of the more dubious characters in the city. For now, Ciel is not planning on going to the dairy himself, ( Read more... )

Just keeping a record of events. It's nothing fantastic.

[The answer varied substantially from what he'd told Johan. Speaking of which...]

I'm supposed to deliver a message to you. [Might as well tell her now] Your brother stopped by and he wanted me to tell you "Hello". [He thnks nothing of it and looks back towards his notebook]

[Her reaction certainly is peculiar considering the subject. This was beginning to look more serious than a simple family squabble or disagreement.]

Your brother. At least that's who he claimed to be-- there is quite a resemblance between the two of you.

Not too long before you arrived, actually. Is there a problem?

[It's difficult to frighten Ciel after everything he's already witnessed during his own time. He allows her all the time she needs to respond. What could her brother possibly have done to warrant this reaction? Apparently the Phantomhive family was not the only one with skeletons in it's closet is it, Madam Red?.]

He said as much.

[He felt the need to inform her of a certain detail..]

It wasn't as if I let him in. That brother of yours claimed that you both made a habit of dropping in on one another and I'm quite certain he let himself in.

[Nina wasn't able or willing to face him. Her body language was saying plenty about how difficult this was.]

...

[He's already not liking the direction of this conversation. Out of both of his not!parents Nina has always been the one that has treated him like a child, something he generally finds intolerable under normal circumstances but her sincerity had caused him to be more patient and lenient with her. ]

Before I agree to such a thing I would prefer to know more about what I'm avoiding. [He certainly wasn't planning on complying just because she "wanted" him to. It was unfortunate that his resistance could make the situation even harder on Nina, but he simply wasn't someone that blindly followed others no matter how positive their intentions were]

What is he capable of..?

A murderer.

[Ciel managed to fight back a smirk. It wasn't that the information was particularly amusing, just that he had faced many a murderer and a psychopath and the results had always been the same. It wasn't unusual in his former occupation as the Queen's guard dog to have such persons eliminated permanently. The nature of Mayfield however ruled out this option.]

He's only human-- isn't he? [The boy said dismissively before tacking on the additional question. He'd always assumed Nina was strictly a human, therefore her twin should be one too. His original assumption however could have been wrong./small>]

[After some quiet contemplation, Ciel can't help but find himself more intrigued by Johan than he had been originally. Was it possible that this guy was also meddling with dark beasts... ]

How long has he been in Mayfield? Currently, he may be no more than a paper tiger..

[For now he decides to acquiesce to Nina's original request. He hadn't been spending a lot of time at "home" to begin with, so it wouldn't be such a chore to wind up at the library by the end of the day. Besides, if Johan was someone so heinous and dangerous, Nina shouldn't be left alone with him either. Otherwise he'd skip going to the library entirely and just go home after her shift ended, rather than making the special trip.]

What time does the library close?
