Having seen HP4 twice now, I have to agree with you Lymmie - Emma Watson just cannot act. I said it after HP1 and HP4 confirmed it. I'm softening to Daniel, I think he's improved a lot. I always thought Rupert was a brilliant comic but Emma? I'm sorry but I just don't think she has any idea of Hermione's character at all. Judging by the few ( Read more... )

Yes, I completely agree with everything you've said about Emma. Her acting is just so... un-Hermionish. It doesn't help that Kloves writes hysterical!Hermione moments, either. But yes, my major problem with film!Hermione is that she hasn't got that bossy-stubborn-clever special spark that she has in the books. Oh well.

I haven't seen the new movie yet, but I don't think she's doing too bad. I agree that she's really not playing her the way I pictured Hermione in the book, but considering the movie I'm watching at the moment and the amazing acting in it, film-Hermione could have been a lot worse. I do think she was a lot closer to what I pictured in the first movie and even the second, but she really started to drift in the third one.

Geez, I know. The eyebrows!

I wish they'd do more with Gary Oldman, not only because he's The Greatest Actor Alive but because he's so pivotal in upcoming events...
