Having seen HP4 twice now, I have to agree with you Lymmie - Emma Watson just cannot act. I said it after HP1 and HP4 confirmed it. I'm softening to Daniel, I think he's improved a lot. I always thought Rupert was a brilliant comic but Emma? I'm sorry but I just don't think she has any idea of Hermione's character at all. Judging by the few interviews that I've read, her own personality and Hermione's could not be further apart and it shows. She's simply not talented enough to bridge that abyss of understanding to bring Hermione to life. It's a pity because I still like Hermione the best of the trio and I would have loved to see her portrayed really well on the screen.
Emma gets the bossy without the intelligence and common sense. And what's with hysterical!Hermione in HP4? She doesn't exist in the books.
I wish I could look forward to things perhaps improving but unfortunately, Hermione's character which was so strong in HP1-4 in the books got a bit lost in HP5&6. Talking of characters getting lost, you could see which direction Draco's character was going to go just by seeing the movie version of HP4...
