Entertainment 2009
I decided to do one of these this year.
Lets just see if I can remember to update it.
Books I Read (Goal 15...which I doubt I will reach)
1. Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. (Finished 3/21)- I read this book back in High School and reading it again reminded me why it's one of my favs. I couldn't remember much so it was great to read again. I love Dan Brown. Though I prob shouldn't have re-read it this close to the movie coming out. The movie will prob suck...though Ewan being in it does give it some bonus points.
2.The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.- I REALLY liked this book. It was cute and heartbreaking and had amazing advice ("There is no dishonor in losing the race. There is only dishonor in not racing because you are afraid to lose.") and was all told from the perspective of a DOG which made it even more amazing. Also it had a very solid foot in Grand Am racing which made me giggle a lot cuz I know who and what tracks they were talking about a lot of the time. This will make a great movie if they figure it out right.
3.In the Woods by Tana French- I loved this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I loved the main characters...but (even though there was like NO romance in it) I HATED how things ended between the two main ones. Made me NOT want to finish the book.
4. The Likeness by Tana French- So a kind of but not really sequel to In the Woods, it just has a couple of the same characters, different case. Didn't get into it as fast as the other but still really amazing and couldn't put down after the first few chapters. Also kept me guessing. And made me not so mad about the ending of the last one.

Movies I Watched (Goal 100)
1. Valkyrie (1/01)-Fantastic. Loved it, even though Tom Cruise was in it!
2. Ghost Town (1/01)- Not very good. Had some funny moments but not many.
3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (1/02)- I thought it was pretty good. Not a huge Brad Pitt fan but it was still decent.
4. Slumdog Millionaire (1/03)- AMAZING. One of the best films I have seen in a while.
5. Bride Wars (1/10)- Cute chick movie. Had fun seeing it with some friends.
6. The Holiday (1/12)- I love this movie. I have owned it for a while but I don't think I have watched it since I bought it. I LOVE the old guy, Arthur. But it might because he is all about old Hollywood and I took my film history class the semester before I saw this and I knew everyone he was talking about.
7. Runaway Bride (1/13)- Felt like an older but good chick flick.
8. Monster Camp (1/14)- For my Doc class and thought it was a interesting but weak doc.
9. Hercules in New York (1/16)- Arnold Schwarzenegger's first movie. Horribly Awesome.
10. The Conqueror- A John Wayne movie where he plays Genghis Khan. So bad, and not in a good way.
11. Cold Souls (1/21)-SUNDANCE. Really good movie. They handled the subject matter really well.
12. Shrink (1/21)-SUNDANCE. WORLD PREMIER. Good, funny and I love Kevin Spacey and his "Fuck em."
13. Boy Interrupted (1/22)- SUNDANCE. WORLD PREMIER. A good doc. But I just didn't like it a whole lot. Not sure why.
14. Brief Interviews with Hideous Men(1/22)- SUNDANCE. Not as funny as I thought it would be.
15. The Yes Men Fix the World (1/23)- SUNDANCE. Best. Doc. Ever. SEE IT NOW. So freaking funny and awesome.
16. Reporter (1/23)- SUNDANCE. Ok I know this sounds bad but this is just another Africa movie, and not a good one either.
17. World's Greatest Dad (1/24)- SUNDANCE. Dark Robin Williams comedy written by Bobcat Goldthwait. What does that tell you? Really funny and wrong but oh so good.
18. High School (1/28)- A Doc Frederick Wiseman for my Doc class. I thought it was better than Titicut Follies.
19. For the Bible Tells Me So (2/3)- Seriously WATCH IT NOW.
20. The Dutchess (2/6)- Pissed me off. *sigh* Why did Ralph Finnes have to be an ass. I love him.
21. He's Just Not That Into You (2/7)- Relationships are way more complicated than then should be.
22. Milk (2/19)-FINALLY saw this. It's so amazing. I am rooting for Sean Penn for best actor. He was awesome.
23. Tropic Thunder (2/20)- I hate Tom Cruise but this movie made me like him. Especially during the credits, when he dances. LOL.
24. Deception (2/21)- A lot better than I thought it would be. Also Hello Ewan AND Hugh in the same movie. Mmmm.
25. Watchmen (3/7)- I liked it. I have only read the first half of the book though. And it was a bit to bloody for me at times.
26. The Thin Blue Line (3/11)- We watched this during Doc class...Meh I found it a bit repetitive and boring.
27. Vertical Limit (4/3)- Yay for watching crappy movies with my friends and tearing them apart.
28. The Times of Harvey Milk (4/26)- Really interesting to watch this and Milk right next to each other.
29. Wolverine (5/1)- Cheesy. Horrible writing. Bad special effects. But STILL AWESOME. With LOTS of eye candy.
30. Last Chance Harvey (5/13)- Meh it was ok. Nothing exciting but it wasn't bad.
31. Star Trek (5/16)- My dad made me see this with him and it was actually pretty entertaining. Just pure entertainment. AND SIMON PEGG!!
32. Angels and Demons (5/18)- Ron Howard is overrated. And KILLED my fav non HP book. Ewan was way good though.
33. Rookie of the Year (5/19)- Hahaha it was on TV and I haven't seen it in AGES and I used to love it. Good memories.
34. Sunshine Cleaning (5/20)-LOVED it. Amy Adams is FANTASTIC.
35. Mean Girls- Me and the Roomies watched it on TV. Forgot how awesome it is.
36. Bridget Jones Diary (6/3)- *sigh* Such a hard life Bridget, choosing between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. But she is so socially awkward I am even embarrassed for her.
37. Up (6/4)- Very awesome but the short before it was the BEST.
38. Bridget Jones Diary: Edge of Reason (6/5)- Was so happy when this was on because I really wanted to see it. Def not as good as the first.
39. Defiance (6/8)-FINALLY got to see this AWESOME movie. Full of hot men.
40. New In Town (6/8)- Seems my roomies and I are on a Reene kick...which is weird. The movie was kind of bad.
41. Outbreak (6/18)- Hehehehehehe Paddy in this movie makes me giggle.
42. The Hangover (6/26)- I REALLY liked this movie. It wasn't as raunchy as I expected and that made me like it a lot more. It also made me LOL a lot.
43. What's Up Doc (7/11)- Whenever we go visit my bro and his family we always watch an older movie and this one was ok. I don't like Streisand in it, and Ryan O'Neil kept reminding me of Bones hahaha. But it was entertaining.
44. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (7/15)-SO MUCH BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I actually enjoyed it. Might be cuz I haven't read the book in AGES and I have only read it like twice, cuz its not one of my favs. But also the casting of Jim Broadbent as Slughorn reminded me that they do make brilliant casting choices sometimes. (Like Helena Bonham Carter, and the all time best HP casting choice, Alan Rickman.)
45. Ghost of Girlfriends Past- Saw this with a friend and HATED IT. Omg so bad. Emma Stone was the only good thing about this movie.
46. Enchanted (7/24)- Watched this at work. Getting paid to watch one of my fav movies, so amazing.
47. The Hurt Locker (7/27)- This was really interesting to watch. But kind of weird because I have kissed Brian, and met Jeremy. But the film was AMAZING. Very intense.
48. The Proposal(7/31)- Saw this at the Drive in with some friends. A few funny parts but over all disappointing. I really didn't belive the relationship between the two of them, there was no build.
49. Transformers 2(7/31)- The 2nd film at the Drive in. I liked it. Cheesy and pointless entertainment but that is what it was made for, so it's mission was accomplished.
50.High School Musical 1(8/3)- Since this was the theme at the camp I worked at I was forced to sit though it. Horrible everything in this move.
51. High School Musical 3(8/6)- Got to skip 2 cuz I was white water rafting but still had to see this one. Not as bad as the first...but that might be cuz I was making fun of it the WHOLE time with one of my fellow counselors.
52.Julie and Julia (8/8)- Saw this with my parents and it was really good. Amy Adams was amazing and I loved both stories.
53. What A Girl Want(8/22)- Watched this one night in NYC. I like it hahaha. I had seen it before. I blame Colin Firth for me liking it.
54. Loverboy (8/25)- Aww Paddy was so adorable when he was younger. The movie was so 80s cheese too, which made it awesome.
55. Face the Music (8/25)- Another one of Paddy's earlier movies. This one was with Molly Ringwald, and it was HORRIBLE. I just...bad.
56. Some Girls (8/26)- Ok I thought Face the Music was bad, but then I saw this and seriously prob the worst movie I have ever seen. I had NO IDEA what was going on the whole time. Patrick couldn't even save this one.
57. Iron Jawed Angles (8/26)- Really really good film. Could have used a bit more Patrick though hahaha.
58. Disturbia- Liked it a lot more than I thought I would.

26. The Thin Blue Line (3/11)- We watched this during Doc class...Meh I found it a bit repetitive and boring.
27. Vertical Limit (4/3)- Yay for watching crappy movies with my friends and tearing them apart.
28. The Times of Harvey Milk (4/26)- Really interesting to watch this and Milk right next to each other.
29. Wolverine (5/1)- Cheesy. Horrible writing. Bad special effects. But STILL AWESOME. With LOTS of eye candy.
30. Last Chance Harvey (5/13)- Meh it was ok. Nothing exciting but it wasn't bad.
31. Star Trek (5/16)- My dad made me see this with him and it was actually pretty entertaining. Just pure entertainment. AND SIMON PEGG!!
32. Angels and Demons (5/18)- Ron Howard is overrated. And KILLED my fav non HP book. Ewan was way good though.
33. Rookie of the Year (5/19)- Hahaha it was on TV and I haven't seen it in AGES and I used to love it. Good memories.
34. Sunshine Cleaning (5/20)-LOVED it. Amy Adams is FANTASTIC.
35. Mean Girls- Me and the Roomies watched it on TV. Forgot how awesome it is.
36. Bridget Jones Diary (6/3)- *sigh* Such a hard life Bridget, choosing between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. But she is so socially awkward I am even embarrassed for her.
37. Up (6/4)- Very awesome but the short before it was the BEST.
38. Bridget Jones Diary: Edge of Reason (6/5)- Was so happy when this was on because I really wanted to see it. Def not as good as the first.
39. Defiance (6/8)-FINALLY got to see this AWESOME movie. Full of hot men.
40. New In Town (6/8)- Seems my roomies and I are on a Reene kick...which is weird. The movie was kind of bad.
41. Outbreak (6/18)- Hehehehehehe Paddy in this movie makes me giggle.
42. The Hangover (6/26)- I REALLY liked this movie. It wasn't as raunchy as I expected and that made me like it a lot more. It also made me LOL a lot.
43. What's Up Doc (7/11)- Whenever we go visit my bro and his family we always watch an older movie and this one was ok. I don't like Streisand in it, and Ryan O'Neil kept reminding me of Bones hahaha. But it was entertaining.
44. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (7/15)-SO MUCH BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE. I actually enjoyed it. Might be cuz I haven't read the book in AGES and I have only read it like twice, cuz its not one of my favs. But also the casting of Jim Broadbent as Slughorn reminded me that they do make brilliant casting choices sometimes. (Like Helena Bonham Carter, and the all time best HP casting choice, Alan Rickman.)
45. Ghost of Girlfriends Past- Saw this with a friend and HATED IT. Omg so bad. Emma Stone was the only good thing about this movie.
46. Enchanted (7/24)- Watched this at work. Getting paid to watch one of my fav movies, so amazing.
47. The Hurt Locker (7/27)- This was really interesting to watch. But kind of weird because I have kissed Brian, and met Jeremy. But the film was AMAZING. Very intense.
48. The Proposal(7/31)- Saw this at the Drive in with some friends. A few funny parts but over all disappointing. I really didn't belive the relationship between the two of them, there was no build.
49. Transformers 2(7/31)- The 2nd film at the Drive in. I liked it. Cheesy and pointless entertainment but that is what it was made for, so it's mission was accomplished.
50.High School Musical 1(8/3)- Since this was the theme at the camp I worked at I was forced to sit though it. Horrible everything in this move.
51. High School Musical 3(8/6)- Got to skip 2 cuz I was white water rafting but still had to see this one. Not as bad as the first...but that might be cuz I was making fun of it the WHOLE time with one of my fellow counselors.
52.Julie and Julia (8/8)- Saw this with my parents and it was really good. Amy Adams was amazing and I loved both stories.
53. What A Girl Want(8/22)- Watched this one night in NYC. I like it hahaha. I had seen it before. I blame Colin Firth for me liking it.
54. Loverboy (8/25)- Aww Paddy was so adorable when he was younger. The movie was so 80s cheese too, which made it awesome.
55. Face the Music (8/25)- Another one of Paddy's earlier movies. This one was with Molly Ringwald, and it was HORRIBLE. I just...bad.
56. Some Girls (8/26)- Ok I thought Face the Music was bad, but then I saw this and seriously prob the worst movie I have ever seen. I had NO IDEA what was going on the whole time. Patrick couldn't even save this one.
57. Iron Jawed Angles (8/26)- Really really good film. Could have used a bit more Patrick though hahaha.
58. Disturbia- Liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
