Harvey and I went to an Irish festival on Saturday, and the place was full of guys in kilts. None were nearly as cute as our Ewan, but there were some hotties. I spent way too much on jewelry, but I needed a few pieces to go with the silver claddagh bracelet that Harvey ordered from Ireland for me. I picked up earings, a necklace, and a ring that was made in Co Sligo where my grandmom was from. It was fate. The festival was a lot of fun, I chatted with everyone and they were so friendly! We saw Irish Ceili dancers, bag pipers, Harp playing, sheep hearding dogs, and shopped all day. I used to work in an Irish gift shop, so it was funny to see all of the things I already owned. The fairgrounds were beautiful, nice and shadey. The highlight for me was hearing the pipers play Amazing Grace, that one always gets me.
I told Harvey that he looked very spiffy in his new shoes and clothes I'd gotten for him for our anniversary, then noticed that his shirt was inside out. LOL! Poor guy, I live to tease him, but we had a good laugh about it.
I've been fighting a bad bout of the blues lately. I've never found a drug that helps, they just make me feel sick, so I have to just try and ride it out. All I do is want to sleep all day, so yesturday I went and bought a new set of good cookwear. Cooking has become my new hobby, I live to watch the Food Network. I still mourn the end of the Top Chef season. LOL! Anyway, I made a huge meal last night. Chicken scallopini, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and those cheesy garlic biscuits like the ones at Red Lobster (but better). The biscuits were a big hit with Harv, I had to stash the leftovers away so he didn't eat them all. Then I preped for breakfast before heading off to bed. I made French toast (using french bread) with a three berry syrup. Yum oh! I didn't have powdered sugar, so I made my own in the blender with regular sugar. I served it with some veggy sasuage, and it was wonderful. Harv was a happy man, and it will keep him away from the fast food burgers at lunch. lol! I used to hate cooking, and wasn't very good at it, but I'm learning. The plus side is that I'm feeling almost normal today. I still have to finish hanging my pot rack and then hanging lamp I made (I couldn't find one I liked ready made), but all this activity has made me feel a whole lot better.
