Something something something Dark Side

Hmm, kinda underwhelming. First one was hard to follow, I guess. It had its moments, but eh. Maybe the third one will be good again :-) One of the special features was the first few minutes of the table read for "We have a bad feeling about this" which sounded promising. I used to think Empire was the worst of the original 3 movies too, but then I watched all three of them in a row one over a Saturday-Sunday one weekend and came to think that Empire is actually the best of the three.

Speaking of movies, fich and I saw "Up in the Air" the other day, and we were both inordinately amused by the scene where Clooney/Bingham waltzes up to the check-in desk and the person as the front of the line complains and is informed that Hilton HHonors members get their own line. Other than comps with actual cash value, getting to cut in line via line passes or separate lines for high-tier club members is one of my favorite casino perqs. Highlights include the time we got to skip a 45-60 minute line for the Bellagio buffet (actually that happened multiple times, back when I used to frequent the Bellagio as a tourist) and the time at the Paris buffet when we overheard someone saying "How come they get to go in front?"

I was reminded of this today as I sat around waiting at DMV, thinking "Shit, I've been here 4 times in 3 months, I should get some sort of DMV VIP card that lets me skip the lines."

(Oh, the movie -- Up in the Air was ok too; I was a bit disappointed they felt the need to have him Learn a Lesson towards the end, but was glad they avoided the cliche of having *him* get fired via teleconference; that would have been too obvious. Other than that, it was entertaining, and I tried not to think about it too much :-))
