For anyone who reads LJ but not Facebook (is that anyone these days?), here are cell phone photos I took at work using my
Solarscope (they don't seem to sell the cardboard version anymore, just a pricier wooden one). This is the same apparatus I used back in November 2006 for the Mercury transit.
There was also a
massive sunspot group on the face of the sun today.
Before the eclipse, just looking at the sunspots:
