i spend a ridiculous amount of money going out to eat. i think i can safely say that. for a long time i thought it was from the whole food=reward thing we had growing up, going to mcdonalds with our report card and the like. today i was feeling down and went to dinner and realized that another aspect of it may be that someone is "taking care of" ( ( Read more... )

You and Erik spend more on going out to eat than anyone I know. I'm third.

Sorry I've been so busy lately. Let's try to talk soon.

you don't need to tell me twice--going to paris would be an excellent idea, and not so much of a waste, especially if your mom is psyched about it. like you said, if the price of the trip is comparable to that of the table, then...

and going out to eat is always (ok, usually) awesome and usually very, very gratifying and not just gastronomically-speaking. sometimes one just doesn't to cook (alone) and it's a relatively "safe" way to socially interact, you know?

i think i might start a new account on this thing. i dont even remember my old password. only once in a blue moon do i think to read my friends page, but maybe if i had a page i wanted to update, i'd start reading people's entries more regularly....we'll see.

that's an interesting way of looking at going out to eat. in contrast, i find being waited on sort of awkward. probably because i can usually afford it, and there are people out there scrounging for tips. there is just something phony in all the interactions.

i guess that's pretty cynical of me, eh? :)
