The day(s) after thanksgiving

FRIDAY: hmmm, i woke up and went over to my sis's. Hung out with her and the kid for the morning into the early afternoon. We watched a movie called "The Final Cut." Basically it's set in the near future and this company has developed the technology to implant this recordable device in your brain and it records your entire life (based on what you see and hear). Then when you die, they remove it and there are these "cutters" who basically are like editors and put together a film (summary) of your life based on your perspectives. It actually made me think about that. Because what sort of things would you do or not do if you knew that once you were dead, someone was going to see it all. Makes you wonder. Afterwards, I went suit shopping with the madre. We went to this place called 3 day suits. I found out i'm a size 38 short. Anyway, spent an hour searching and finally came on the last one in that size and it happened to fit me very nicely. So i ended up getting that. Funny thing is it was the first suit in the section of my size but somehow we started at the back end of that section. It was on sale too so that was an extra plus. Friday night was spent at doc's just chillin and getting harrassed for my failure. It was very relaxin' though.

SATURDAY: So my dad comes and wakes me up at some early hour but i go back to sleep. Then my mom comes in and is like "are you going hiking?" So i get up at 8:30 (went to bed 2:15 or so). We get up to the mountain and start trekking along. As we kept climbing, I kept thinking about stuff that's been on my mind as of late. Then i noticed that the fog/mist was rolling in between the two mountain ranges. Once we got to the top portion where our destination was, the mist was rolling up the mountainside and covering up everything. So we decided to make haste and hoof it back down. It was weird because as we hiked down, the places we were hiking is where the sun showed through at that particular spot. It was somewhat of a divine thing (according to my dad "god smiling down on us"). My knees are killing me. I have had problems with my knees for a long time now but usually they aren't sore like this after i finish hiking. Must be getting old. Then I just came back and hung out because I was exhausted (still am as i write this). Poker night was tonight so after i had dinner with my folks, I went on over to tim's and we had poker night. I started off losing a bunch of chips and decided I better play more conservatively (since these people were tossing chips in just to see the next card) and made a move to grab some chips. I had a nice string of hands, including quad aces, and then hit nothing for awhile. So i just kind of stayed out of the line of fire and let people slowly get themselves out. JAG had a crazy string of hands and built up a formidable stack. Basically he could call/bet any hand just to see what comes next because he had so many chips. So finally we get down to three of us. Daphne's just tryin to stay alive so she folds some hands. I make a couple of stabs, including an all in, and get back to near even with JAG. Then Daphne goes out and I get a Q10 suited and decide to push jag all in (since i had him covered at this point). As luck would have it, he had pocket 6's and called me. So it was a coin flip. A 10 dropped on the flop and that was the game. Overall it was a pretty nice evening with entertainment provided by the 3 dogs and 2 cats that were roaming about.

okay, i'm exhausted. happy reading.
