Pride and Prejudice

Last week I watched the second disc of the BBC's 1995 mini-series production of Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.

I had watched the 2005 Pride and Prejudice with Keira Knightley and loved it. So did my husband, believe it or not. He who is such a critic of romantic movies. He isn't against the romance, he's just a movie ( Read more... )

See, the BBC version made me a P&P snob. I enjoyed the Kiera version for entertainment value, and it was a bit more emotional, but I just can't get past Colin Firth = Darcy. And all the other characters too. But if you don't want to watch a four to five hour movie, the 2005 version is perfect!

I knew that some people who watched the BBC P&P first were forever spoiled and didn't like the 2005, so I wondered how I would feel about it. BBC might be my slight favorite, mostly because of Colin Firth, but it didn't ruin my good view of 2005.

I like your icon. I own Emma as well, and Sense and Sensibility. :)

I have the A&E Emma, but I prefer Miramax's :) I have Persuassion and S&S as well :D

I LOVE the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! I have it on DVD and it's so much fun to watch. You are definitely right that Colin Firth = Mr. Darcy.
