Adrian From Dell Is My Hero

Aug 23, 2006 23:54

So I've been in a fight with my computer the last week or so. It finally won today. The thing wouldn't start up without freezing.
So after a million restarts, I finally conceided to it, and called DELL. I hate calling people. I hate phones. Give me in person or email anyday. So for me to concede (how the hell do you spell that anyways?), it was a big deal.
So after waiting on the phone for almost an hour. Adrian picks up and we go through how to repair my computer. Doesn't work. This is well over 90 minutes in. So he asks me if I have all my important files backed up. Luckily I had just purchased, 4 days prior, an external harddrive which I was able to backup my computer with when my computer was only half dead (I still have to make sure they are there, but external harddrives have recoveries built in them, so everything should be there...hopefully) but right now I am downloading all the programs and such that I use on a daily basis. Hopefully my InDesign will at least work for me, cause I use that thing constantly, and since it was a pirated program... yeah.

So if anyone has InDesign for Windows and they want to let me use their serial number I will give you anything you want.

In other news.
I am back at Clark.
And it won't feel real until everybody gets back and classes start again, but everytime I come back I realize just how much I missed it.
And I have some awesome people back already, ZOE! (after not seeing her for 8+ months), Jason, Kate, Katherine, Lauren, Therese, Harrison, Kim, Chandra, Elyse, Greer etc. etc. etc.
Good stuff.
And what are Zoe, Katherine and I going to see tomorrow?
What else but badass Samuel L. Jackson kickin' some fake snake ass.
I also really want to see Half Nelson and Little Miss Sunshine.
I am now the owner of Spazzy, my exotic Siberian Dwarf Hamster, thanks to Ms. Chandra.
Moving in was almost flawless. Minus RLH. Not having my key for an hour and not having our IDs work for the whole first day (and when me and Katherine just came back from Zoe's house after watching Project Runway - still bitter about them canning Allison - the cards failed to work again!)
Nothing looks different on campus really, other than the construction of the new dorm, the getting used to thinking that Sanford is a First Year dorm, and that Da Lat got rid of their beautiful interior art work.

Tomorrow also holds yearbook stuff, no going to events and photographing, but rather emails and paperwork, and details about this year's book that needs to get organized. Which I am excited for.

So here's to my external harddrive.
And Friends.
And Clark.
And Samuel L. Jackson.
To Keeping Busy,
But Not So Much to the Point of Insanity.
To Arrivals on Sunday.
And Here's to Adrian, the man who made my computer functional.
