Overheard at the office 3.0

Dec 22, 2010 16:53

The scene: A quiet suite, filled with hard-working people.

Boss: (calling out from his office) Would it be inappropriate for me to order myself a WTF? stamp?
Hard-working People: *burst into laughter*
Boss: (bewildered) What?
Hard-working People: *laugh some more*
Boss: (hopefully) It's self-inking...?
Hard-working People: *fall over laughing*

Things like that are just another reason I love my job. :-)

Another is Pigfest! It's an annual potluck breakfast/elevensies/luncheon/afternoon snack/dinner the office has every Christmas. It begins at 8, and basically lasts throughout the entire day, from what I understand. Essentially, everyone spends all day eating and snacking and drifting around wishing it was 5:00 so they could begin the Christmas holiday, and very little work (if any) is done.

It sounds fantastic.

I'm making a cherry cobbler tonight, for my own contribution to the cause. I've got the ingredients all set out on the counter, and I'm ready to begin.

And one other thing from work today. At some point in the afternoon I realized that lately it seems that quite often I'm having to hike my pants/trousers/jeans up. Because they are too big. This makes me happier than I can say. I only hope I can continue the weight loss through the holiday season. It's tough, when I'm surrounded by cookies and candy and all kinds of goodies, but I'm doing my best to avoid them all, or only take one cookie and no more. So far it seems to be working...although of course Pigfest tomorrow will be one giant smorgasbord of food. But oh well. One day won't kill me. (She said hopefully *g*)
