What are you reading right now?
A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin, for the zillionth time. I'm deliberately going very slowly, and drawing out the pleasure. I love this book. I love this series. I can't wait for the next book!
Do you have any idea what you’ll read when you’re done with that?
Of course! The entire ASOIAF series. Next up is A Clash of Swords.
After that? I have no idea. I've been on epic fantasy kick lately, so I might re-read the Dark Tower series. I'm not decided yet, though. It's entirely possible that by the time I finish reading GRRM's books, all I'll want to read is all the Farscape fanfic I've been denying myself until I finish watching the series.
What’s the worst thing you were ever forced to read?
That's easy. The Grapes of Wrath. I had to read it in high school English class. I never did finish it. It was the first time I ever cheated and used Cliff's Notes in order to pass an exam.
What’s the one book you always recommend to just about everyone?
Hmm... I don't know. I would say Good Omens. It's got something for everyone. Humor, drama, angels, demons, footnotes, and tons of snark.
Admit it, the librarians at your library know you on a first name basis, don’t they?
Er, not so much.
Do you read books while you eat? While you bathe? While you watch movies or TV? While you listen to music? While you’re on the computer? While you’re having sex? While you’re driving?
All the time. Sometimes. Yes, during commercials. No. No. Um, no. Yes. Although the "while I'm driving" thing only happens when I'm stopped at a red light. Also, I read when I'm a passenger in a car/train/airplane. I've always read when in a vehicle.
What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?
The Shepherd of the Hills. A lady at work lent it to me. It was a first edition from 1907. I was terrified of hurting the book, of opening it too wide and further cracking the binding. But the story was amazing and I couldn't stop reading it once I started.
