Friday, October 19 - The Corpse Vanishes
Bela Lugosi plays a crazy guy who is married to a billion year old countess who needs the glandular juices of young brides injected into her neck to stay young-looking. So, Bela Lugosi sends these orchid corsages to all the brides on their wedding days and they put it on, but little do they know the orchid in the corsage makes them pass out and look dead and then Bela Lugosi steals their body and you know the rest.
Saturday, October 20 - The Devil Bat
This one also stars Bela Lugosi, but this time he is a scientist who makes perfume formulas for a super-rich cosmetics family. He's all pissed off because he sold them his super-awesome perfume formula for ten thousand dollars and they have made a gazillion dollars from it. You would think he'd just do what any proud american would do and hire a lawyer and sue the pants off of the family. Well no, because Bela Lugosi is hungarian...so instead he does as the hungarians do and hooks electrodes up to a bat which makes it grow to a gargantuan size. Then he trains it to freak out whenever it smells this certain odor which happens to be the odor of his new shaving lotion. He then gives bottles of the shaving lotion to members of the rich family and the bat kills the family members one by one. Brilliant! Bela Lugosi is my hero.
Sunday, October 21 - The Human Monster
Guess who stars in this one...you'll never guess, but its also Bela Lugosi! Do you spot a trend yet? Anyway, in this one, he plays an evil insurance salesman who throws people in the Thames river and also pretends to be a blind guy on his days off from selling insurance and being evil. The sound on my copy of this DVD is so low and muffled this is really the best description I can give you of this movie. But Bela Lugosi is still my hero!
