Baby seal of spooky DOOM!

Laura to see The Pink Panther film that's now in theaters. Really fun, by the way. You should go see it...

Prior to that we were looking for where we might nosh, first meal of the day. We'd gone to shopping center in Mountain View that houses the AMC 20 and there's a lot of good places in there. However, on the drive in I noticed something was missing.
I hadn't seen the Ben & Jerry's Outlet that was located there.
Figured I'd just missed it...but a quick check wouldn't hurt.
Turns out it wasn't there anymore. They closed it down and while that may've made sense to them, it filled me with dread. Where was I supposed to go now when their Free Cone Day came around again?
Grrrr!
So, on the way to where we were going to eat I started doing something in my head. Tried to think of something to stave off of the dark emotions that were simmering beneath the surface. I came up with the perfect thing but my wonky brain started twisting it around...
...and, for whatever reason I let it slip out.
Laura: What did you say?
Me: *surprised* Oh...I'm killing a baby seal.
Laura: Wait...what?!?
Me: He was mean!
Laura: *really looking at me odd*
Me: After I found out the B&J was closed I tried to think of something to take my mind off it and the first thing that came to mind was a baby seal because they're really cute.
Laura: Okaaay...
Me: Then the fluffy little bastard gave me a really snide expression and it was on!
Laura: But they're cute!
Me: Hey, he started it.
Laura: Well, stop it.
Me: In a sec, I'm almost done.
Laura: Huh??
Me: I said I was killing it...not that I'd killed it.
Laura: How long does it take?
Me: I was really bothered about the B&J. I'm taking my time.
Not as bad as it all sounds.
Laura was laughing along with me during this chat.
So, we went in and ate and on the way out we headed over to the movie. On the way there, she decided to share this little bit with me.
Laura: I can't believe you'd do that to a baby seal.
Me: It's not like it's a real one. I made him up!
Laura: Well, he's real to me!
Me: *rolling eyes*
Laura: You go ahead and kill him in your head...
Me: Oh he's dead now.
Laura: ...I'll make him a little tombstone in mine.
Me: You're going to what?!
Laura: That's right! He deserves a proper burial.
Me: I see. *slight pause* Would you like his name for the tombstone?
Laura: *shocked* You named him?!?
Me: Nope.
Laura: Then how do you know his name?
Me: I stole his wallet.
After that, I don't remember where the conversation went. We were both laughing too hard and had to stop to get our breath back...
...sorry, I meant (for
Laura's sake) get our breathe back!
