but what if you ARE sick? I think it's illegal to say you can't call in sick.

Actually, from a corporate standpoint, you REALLY don't want employees showing up to work when they're sick.

In addition to the fact that productivity is lost by the fact that you're sick and trying to work, you infect the whole office, which decreases productivity and costs the company more in healthcare benefits.

Much better for you to just stay the f home if you're sick...even if it IS after a 3 day weekend.

...you can't get in trouble for calling in sick when you're sick.

not specifically but on a day where there's a lot of work and no one is here we can all collectively get in trouble
