I just started getting caught up on Big Love and I am delighted with the new opening credits. Fucking GORGEOUS.

I loved the old opening credits and part of the DVD was a behind the scenes look at the filming and it was just so cool that they put so much thought into it. It has to be the same guy who did Six Feet Under's opening credits- which I ( Read more... )

HBO show openings are the best! That's because no one can compete with the quality of their shows. Big Love rocks but I don't love the new opening as much as you do, although it's growing on me.

I <3 Deadwood and miss it terribly. Had to go look at the opening - forgot what it was like. Made me sad that David Milch stopped making it to produce that piece of shit "John from Cincinnati". (HBO's only mistake.)

I love this fabulous and creepy opening:

I also love the song that plays in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer opening. The highlights changed every season but my favorites featured Spike. Yum. That continues to be one of my favorite shows of all times.

Also dig the catchy Entourage opening.

John from Cincinnati was the one with The Clash opening. That show felt like they had six writers who each got to write a scene as they passed the script around with NO DISCUSSION of where they were going. And that little surfer kid needs to stick with surfing instead of acting.
Carnivale's opening worked because it was as fucked up and mysterious as the show.

Deadwood... oh how I love it. Did you ever watch all the director's notes and behind the scenes footage? That's why I refuse to download it- holding off to own all that extra stuff. When I originally watched it someone loaned me all three seasons at once and it was BLISS.

Ugh. That snot-nosed surfer punk. God that show sucked. It was sad to see all of the ex-Deadwood actors reduced to working in that steaming pile of poo.

I saw some behind the scenes stuff on HBO on demand. I also have season two on DVD but never watched it. (My parents bought me season two for my birthday a few years ago... I never understood why they bought me season two and not season one since I asked for all three seasons on my Amazon wish list... but whatever. Someday I will buy season one myself and watch everything in order and also the extra stuff.)

No. Well I did try to watch a couple episodes way after it had started but I had no idea what was going on. Someday maybe I'll watch it if they ever run it on HBO on Demand TV shows. I don't rent movies, do Netflix or download stuff. Or go to the theater. :o)
