Soooo freakin busy lately. Been fixing a car almost every single day. An extra $50 - $100 a day has been pretty damn nice. but exhausting. It kinda amazes me how little people know about cars, cause where i grew up, if you were a male who didn't know at least the basics of car repair, you got made fun of. And the way these garages overcharge, a few years ago I wouldn't even bother charging someone to do something as simple as changing spark plugs. But these garages will charge you a couple hundred to do it. If you have a 8 cylinder engine, it's literally as simple as removing 8 bolts and putting new ones back in. So when I'm like, "yeah I'll do it for $50" and they jump for joy and throw money at me, hey, why not. I'll do it for free for my good friends, but if I'm gonna drive somewhere and take an hour of my time to do it for someone I see every 6 months, then yeah, gimmie yo money. When I first moved out here, it blew my mind that a guy wouldn't know how to change his oil and change spark plugs. Coming from the land of farms and trailer parks, working on cars is as common as changing a light bulb. Also helps that I have a kick ass arsenal of tools. Finally broke down and bought a big 30 pound cannister of freon, since I'm fixing A/c left and right. Cause buying those stupid little cans is about 4 times the cost, and now I can have it on hand, charge people less than what the stores charge and still come out ahead. Should hopefully have all my cards paid off within 6 to 8 weeks, and then I can go back to putting money in my savings again. Although September will be an eventful and expensive month, since I'll be going to vegas for the classic videogame expo and then taking the RV out to wasteland weekend. But that will be a good way to celebrate being out of debt :)
